The hotel is walking distance to Heineken Experience, Hard Rock Cafe and I AMSTERDAM signboard. The area is safe, also United Airline stay here when they are in Amsterdam so in the morning you will them.

The hotel itself is OK; slightly dated but in a nice location 5 minutes away from the Rijksmuseum. But, beware of arriving after 4pm - we arrived at 4.20 and were told they were full and we'd have to be carted off to another hotel via taxi. Not at all what we wanted to hear after a long journey. When...

Nice big rooms although slightly dated compared to pictures on website. Very comfortable beds and walking distance to several places of interest, although slightly longer to city centre. Breakfast was pricey at 20 euro but there are cafés nearby which are more reasonable. Only negatives are the early morning noise from the works outside on the weekdays depending on where...

Hotel has seen better times, its old and rundown. Walking distance to the museums, that's a plus. But not so close to the city center and other points of interest. And no public transportation nearby.

If you get a good price there, then you should try it. There is no tram stop right outside but you can choose from different tram stops nearby based on your destination/origin. However, you can walk from this hotel to any basic location/monument/point of interest around Amsterdam. Rooms are spacious and have long windows to enjoy the view. Also quiet...

We loved the NH Amsterdam and the location was ideal to see the Museum Quarter and getting to know this beautiful city. Staff are wonderful and friendly and the hotel rooms are kept very clean. The only issue we had was a bit of noise after 12 that woke us up on our last night but that was only one...

Great location, nice food and we were lucky enough to have a room with the full length windows. Close to bus and trams stop so you can get to places easily. We walked most of the time which at most took half an hour.

Very good breakfast choices.Nice big room with all facilities, except not the cleanest of rooms. Whilst unpacking stuff I found there was a big thick layer of dust in the bedside cabinet, hairs in the shower and a blocked sink. I also wrote a note to the housekeeper to change the bed linen, which was ignored. Not very good service...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
