This was my first experience of The Social Hub. and we just loved it. The vibe and energy of the place was great. The staff were all so friendly. Really enjoyed our stay in Social Hub West Amsterdam. Brilliant location 2 mins walk from tram stop with no.13 to Centraal Station having you in Westermarkt/Jordaan area in 10 mins. This was very much our stomping ground as canal cruise, vintage clothes shopping and Rijksmuseum was on our list of things to do. Anyone staying here should bear in mind that the Social Hub is not a traditional hotel in the sense of food and beverages (room service/dinner menu/extended bar hours). Breakfast is very good with hot options (scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes and hash browns) and continental/cereal options. If you were arriving back in the evening after a busy day sight seeing, note the bar area closes at 8pm. Rooms are bijoux (we stayed in a queen deluxe) but well laid out for a short stay. No issues with cleanliness at all finding the common areas very clean and room clean on arrival. Toiletries and towels were refreshed daily alongside tea and coffee. Travellers from uk and Ireland might appreciate uht milk though! I bought some in local shop but I'm sure reception could have provided if I thought to ask. WiFi was excellent...tested as I was travelling with a young person so the tablet was used a lot. I was also able to screen share my phone to smart TV in room to watch Netflix after long day of sightseeing. I read a number of comments saying mattresses are hard. This is very true! I asked for an extra duvet to provide an extra cushion between me and the hard mattress and that worked fine. Possibly the hotel could invest in a cushiony mattress protector or a memory foam layer and that might make things more comfortable for guests. I absolutely have more praise than criticism in regards to our stay. Staff at reception and bar were very friendly and helpful and kind to my young daughter and made us feel very welcome. I would absolutely stay here again if I came back to Amsterdam as loved the area and our tram rides into the main thoroughfare.

I stayed for 3 months so I can speak about the fantastic experience while being in the Student Hotel Nieuw West in Amsterdam. Starting with the people working there, absolutely amazing. They are focused on service and on top of it, even if they are really busy at times they keep smiling and trying to be as straight forward as possible. This is including not only reception but also the people that clean on a daily basis the rooms or the facilities of the hotel. Apart from this, the gym, the quiet rooms in the library and the lobby itself (with the ping-pong table and the billiards) are also something to add-on. It is one of the best hotels where I stayed and definitely the good choice for Amsterdam!

The staff at the reception is very friendly at the reception. Unfortunately the quality of sleep is low due to cheap and oversized mattresses they now use. They should change all mattresses and use exclusively Orthopaedic Spring Mattresses like they do at most hotels. In the past the Student-Hotel offered Top-Quality Mattresses, but now they changed, and obviously do not care anymore.

The service and cleaning is a joke, save your money. There is lack of cleaning, only once a week done poorly, the facilites overall aren’t always clean as it should be specially with COVID times. The restaurant should have better opening hours as closing at 8:00 PM for dinner is very early.

We stayed for seven days in the Student Hotel in Amsterdam West in July (2 adults, 3 teenagers) in 3 rooms. Very international, young, and open atmosphere in the lobby. All amenities of a good hotel were available, even a gym (at no extra cost!). Room cleaning was done only every other day, but this was not problem at all, you could even get fresh towels daily. Very close to Metro station and tram stop, ca. 20 min. to city center, ca. 30 min. to central station. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean, the only problem was that the windows could not be openend and thus all surfaces got quite dusty after a few days. Limited parking spaces available but only first-come first-served. Some rooms had no removable shower head. Overall an excellent value for the price!

I visited many websites before finding this hotel, and they never looked as good as this one. The atmosphere is really cool, the design is very important for them and you have many students living here so you can meet a lot of new people if you want to. There are a lot of great facilities like a ping pong table, a huge television and even a place to study quietly. The rooms are great especially if you take a kitchen so that you can be more independant. People are really nice and convenient. The location is not perfect but when as a student i did not find 30min to get to the central station too long. You can rent a bike and eat at the hotel. I completely recommand this hotel.

Over the past three years, my boyfriend and I have stayed at this hotel six times. We have never had any issues! The location is ideal if you want quick and easy access to the centre of the city, but somewhere just a little quieter. The staff always recognise us and address us by name which is an unexpected pleasure. The rooms are always absolutely immaculate, and the house keepers are very attentive. The food in the restaurant is always delicious, and the staff cater to all our needs (special mention to Stanley who is always a delight and has great craic). In particular, we couldn’t say a big enough thank you to King the Supervisor- who is honestly an asset to the team. He is friendly, polite, and goes above and beyond for ourselves and all the guests we have seen him interact with. Our stays at the hotel wouldn’t have been the same without him, and the extra mile he goes to ensure our happy and comfortable stay is always so appreciated. Big love to everyone at the hotel, and if you are looking for a comfortable, affordable stay with GREAT vibes TSH Amsterdam West is for you!!

We really enjoyed the young vibe in general and the quality and cleanliness of every spaces. Although it's located away from the center, there's train, metro and tram right by the door, and in 10min you are pretty much everywhere, especially the train when visiting the windmills at Zaanse Schans. You can also take a walk and in 30minutes be in the Rijksmuseum, which is a great opportunity to discover and experience that part of the city.

NO there is no iron!
Small TV, firm mattress, shower, dark curtains, we had a hairdryer even though online it said you had to ask to borrow one, usb charging ports, rack to hang clothes, hooks, shelves (no drawers) and very cute signage that made us smile.
