We arrived in Amsterdam at the end of a Baltic Cruise and were delighted to spend two nights at the Vanguard in a beautiful and large ensuite room in this very stylish boutique bed and breakfast. The location is perfect, right on one of the main canals and situated perfectly for walking all over the city. The room was decorated...

The b&B is amazing, i stayed there few years ago and had the chance to book it again this year. The building is very typical amsterdam house. The rooms are large with plenty of working space, good for business travelers. the bed is confortable, there is a NESPRESSO machine in all rooms and tea pot. there are also typical biscuits...

What a beautiful place to hide from everyone in romantic Amsterdam. Charming quiet atmosphere, beautiful view from your bed. Good breakfast in cosie atmosphere. Me and my wife love it a lot and definitely recommend to anyone who plan romantic weekend or more in Amsterdam. Perfect location to explore the town. Special thanks to Cynthia - the owner of the...

Our room was the entire top floor of this 4-floor bed and breakfast. The staircase is narrow and winds it's way up. And up, and up. And, that's part of the charm and the fun of this place.  The room is huge. There are wooden beams everywhere, so ducking now and then is necessary -- but it's vacation time, so...

You couldnt find a more wonderful place to stay for a visit in Amsterdam; right in the centre, on one of the lovely canels but quiet .. The most elegant area of the city. The hotel is small, just a few rooms, in a lovely old canal house, century old, unesco heritage. The interior is lovely decorated, the rooms very...

I'll be honest....I booked this as a surprise weekend away for my husband and chose the vanguard based on the reviews, I wanted it to be really special. So the room was OK and comfy bed, however the food and I was really surprised based on other reviews, was really bad. The lady that owns it directed us to a...

This B&B is at an excellent location, but also just outside the noise of the city center. Cynthia is a great host, and she really made us feel at home. The basement room has a separate bathroom and entrance, so it was very private. We'll be back!

We spent our honeymoon at The Vanguard Secret, which is an apartment under the main house. The welcome we received from Cynthia was warm and friendly. After showing us to our apartment, she asked what we were interested in and guided us on the best places to shop, visit and eat out. The apartment was spacious, nicely laid out and...
