Staff were helpful upon arrival and escorted me to my room. Just beware -my room was up two narrow flights of stairs and that would not suit everyone. This was not outlined in my booking and only on arrival. Fresh croissants are bought daily and there's good coffee in Reception and snacks. In your room there's a mini fridge with coca-cola, Heineken and water. There's also coffee and tea making facilities. It can get hot in Amsterdam in the summer - there's no air conditioning but you can open windows to get air into your room. Bed was super comfy and I had 2 great nights sleep. Overall value for money average - this is an expensive part of town and the amenities are OK.
This hotel was great from the first time we walked in.The staff are so friendly, the whole place was very clean and tidy and beautifully decorated. The room has everything that that you would need e.g coffee machine, kettle,TV,hair dryer, fridge and mini bar. Each morning there are free freshly made croissants for every one.The hotel is in a beautiful part of Amsterdam and only a short walk from the main hustle and bustle. We would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone.
Just enjoyed two lovely nights and three convenient days at the Grand Canal. Superb location, walkable to any spot in the old city while away from the chaos of Dam Square and the overrun tourist areas. Lovely residential setting on the active but not overcrowded Kiesersgracht and overlooking the canal which i enjoyed, or rooms to the garden are available. Check-In was seamless with the super concierge Mr G and all the staff. Left luggage no problem and close to city sights and neighborhood necessities.
Process was odd and a costly waste. Don't go here - there are 00s of other hotels in 500m. They aren't in async with booking.com, don't use the same process that booking.com does so don;t take anything for granted like the cancellation policy, covid policy or indeed any other 'no risk' offer. Funny how the human needs we have and misunderstanding of processes we have as customers always seems to work in the favor of the hotel and booking.com.
Lovely stay at the Grand Canal Boutique, the staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem for them. Free coffee, water and crisps/sweets at the main reception was such a lovely touch. The Superior Room was a good size for 4 adults. Mini bar in room and toiletries were great. If we had to pick any negatives at all it would be, that we wished there had been a mirror in bedroom , as 4 females trying to all use the one in the Bathroom was a bit of a chore lol. We will definitely be coming back to Amsterdam to visit you again. Great stay
+ Location, friendly staff, snacks and beverages free of charge, decent size for a single room - Cleanliness below average, room was only superficially cleaned, curtain bathroom was moldy, no soundproofing (at least for rooms in ground floor), had access to a patio which, on one hand was nice, on the other forced you to close the curtains as you could be seen from practically everywhere. Speaking about curtains, you usually get two sets, one lighter to block view, and one darker to block light. My room had only the latter so it was always dark when I wanted to have some privacy. All in all not very well thought out, more like an average 3* and therefore not good value for money.
This hotel is in the perfect location, although, it leaves a lot to be desired. Our “Garden View” room was a view of an outdoor stairway. In June, it was extremely hot with no AC or plug-in fan available. A breeze off the canal in a Canal View room would be the way to go. Otherwise, the staff is nice and they have a cute lobby with free snacks & drinks. Will look elsewhere next time we are in town.
The hotel was great- friendly and helpful staff and very well located. We had a conference at Felix Meritas in the same road - so it was a great location. No breakfast room - but the are croissants and good coffee !
A nice room with everything you need. Some stairs, only a continental breakfast... but very kind and helpful staff. For me, the staff was really important as I needed the help! Good location for your walking tours. Comfy bed.
Our group of 7 stayed here on an overnight trip to Amsterdam. We arrived before check-in, but the hotel was very accommodating and stored our luggage. Our friends stayed in a three-bedroom unit with their family of 5, and my husband and I stayed in a one-bedroom deluxe room on the first floor with a canal view. Although both were spacious, they seemed dark and dated (except for the bathroom, which was bright and spacious - at least in the room my husband and I were in). While I appreciate a canal view, unless you're on a higher floor, I wouldn't recommend it simply for privacy and noise level issues. Other than that, everything was great. The fridge was stocked with free water, beer, and soft drinks, and the lobby contained a supply of free snacks, fruit, and an awesome coffee machine that made all types of coffees, as well as tea and hot chocolate. The staff was friendly and accommodating, from the first moment we arrived with Ingeborg, then met Bart, and finally on our checkout with Rafael. Everyone was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.…
