we were in Amsterdam for 4 nights. 4 adult men. they gave us a basement room. the room is under the street level. and it's very tight and small, they put 4 single beds in there and we barely had a place for our suitcases. the room was very noisy, many noise from other rooms, from upstairs and from work...

The staff was extremely helpful. I was given a 3-bed room, although I was alone. Quiet, bath tab, minibar, free safe, complimentary coffee/tea kettle, good bed linen, free wi fi, very good breakfast and coffee. Very good location, good quality/price for Amsterdam standards. Though, the whole hotel needs renovation!

Great location, you can stay overnight, go to downtown in the evening and continue you journey in the morning. Very nice staff. A lot of stairs. Not very spacious. Our kids loved fish tank in a lobby.

The good: across from the central train station, canal tours, trams. Breakfast included. The bad: very expensive, very very expensive! Worn out, small, dirty rooms. No decor, needs painting, new carpet and major update. Air conditioning operates on a remote which was no where to be found and they could not provide a replacement. Funky, smelly bathroom smells in the...

I recently stayed at Hotel Multatuli for 2 nights with my family, I had booked a single and a double room for our stay. The rooms were nice, neat and cosy. The single Room (#142) which was front facing had a superb view of the Canal, Central Railway Station and main street, but you can't help yourself from hearing the...

My family was there one night. The hotel is in very good location which is only 7 mins to the Amsterdam Centraal Station. The room is small but very clean and quiet. Breakfast is simple but it is reasonable comparing to the okay price in an expensive city. I think Multatuli is not a bad option for a short time...

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. When I was booking it the rooms looked great on the web. That wasn't the case when I arrived. Small rooms. Need decorating and were not clean. Staff friendly but the manager not so nice. Needs to go on a hotel management course to learn how to run a hotel. His manner...

Hi, we had a 2 night break in Amsterdam and this hotel is very close to the train station. The room was down in the basement but wasn't really a problem. The breakfast was great with the usual buffet style offerings but what made it better were the personal touches from Natalya and Paulo who made you feel v welcome and...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
