The location is absolutely superb! Less than 5mins walking from the main train station and in the heart of amsterdam too where you can walk to any of the sightseeing places within few minutes. We didn't use any means of transportation for our whole stay because of the great location. HOWEVER, the location was probably the only good part of...

Booked a triple room with shared bathroom. Didn't realised that the toilet was shared too. We were there for 3 nights tried to see if any other room but the receptionist was asking for another €100 per night for another room so let it go. We stayed in room No. 2. The cleanliness was acceptable. Never had issues with toiletries...

We stayed in this hotel from Wednesday till Saturday. Perfect location for people who like to be in the middle of everything and 24 hours is big plus. The staff was brilliant and friendly. Breakfast was lovely and so much to choose from. The rooms are small but for a people like us who went there just a sleep and...

The rooms are small but have comfortable beds and include a sink and tv. The staff were all extremely friendly and breakfast was also lovely. The shower wasn't great as there was no area where you could put your clothes so you have to go to and from the shower in a towel. This was not a problem for us...

They're hardly advertising luxury so don't expect it. But if you want something cheap and in a good spot this will do it for you. Yes the rooms are small, but they're clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is great and security is no different to most European hotels. Service will be friendly if you are!

I have stayed in hotels in the past (especially in Amsterdam) which I would only recomend if you are out all the time, basically just somewhere to freshen up and get your head down for a few hours. This place, I wouldnt even stay again just for that. Absolute hell hole. To start with, every time you want to enter...

I stayed in this hotel with a friend for three nights. When we arrived we met a friendly receptionist that helped us with a lot of informations. Rooms were simple and warm, you can smoke in yours. That's why we enjoyed staying there. Breakfast included. Clean bathrooms and showers, great position of the hotel.

A male member of staff was very aggressive and when the beds were cleaned they had long hairs on and blood stains, very poor overall. The male member of staff was a young man with a poor attitude towards me and my friends, he was very aggressive and not helpful one bit although one british sounding woman was really nice...

- Great price, great breakfast, great location....

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
