Our room seemed to be clean enough, but the mud coloured walls and carpet in the bedroom gave the opposite impression, this was enhanced by the large ceiling light in the centre of the room which was covered in dust, that became even more apparent when it was lit. The hotel location is great, within easy walking distance of the museums and many attractions. You can walk out in the morning to visit most of the centre and amble back late afternoon and put your feet up before going out for the evening. This pleasure was spoilt for us as the room was not made up until after we returned at 5pm. The bed was comfortable, but had a thick top mattress that migrated across the bed to hand of the side when sitting up reading. This is a hotel were you will want to use the lift as the almost spiral staircase has very narrow treads which test your agility. The small breakfast room is lovely, only spoilt by the staff having to use it as a passageway to the rear of the building so having to negotiate their way between tables and guests. The range of food on offer is good, but not exceptional. All the staff we had contact with were excellent. In many ways it is lovely hotel, but not 4 star.…
We stayed for 5 nights and we thought everything about the hotel was excellent. We would definitely stay there again. Great (quiet and safe) location, friendly, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable staff. Short walk to tram stops, Leidseplein and the Museum Quarter. Nice breakfast with pancakes or waffles cooked to order. Recommended!
Really lovely place. The room was a little bit thigh but had an amazing bed, super comfortable and the bathtub was wonderful. Really good breakfast and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a perfect location, you can reach the museum area by walking 10 minutes through a lovely park. Also there's a tram stop 4 minutes walk away
I loved the time we spent at the hotel. Room was so comfortable and this queen sized bed was amazing. Extra plus for the hydromassage bathtub. But the best of all are people that work in Roemer Hotel, I've never met that kind staff. I really recommend Roemer Hotel 👍
Room was very small and cold. No lights avaialble near the closet and I had to use the torch of my phone. Staff was kind . Breakfast very minimal. in terms of quality and quantity. It does not look like a 4 stars hotel.
I stayed seven nights and found Hotel Roemer to be the perfect Amsterdam base. It's just a couple of blocks from the Leidseplein transportation hub (and Melkweg/Paradiso, if that's your thing) but is on a quiet, pretty little street. The accommodations were very comfortable, but for me the staff made this hotel. Alexander, Maria, Mortis, and Thomas were warm, helpful, and just wonderful to this solo female traveler. I would gladly stay there again.
This hotel was in a well centrally located to the Leidsaplein area which is my favorite area for all my restaurants and the museums . Plus the Bulldog bar/nightclub . I always can find a place to chain up my bike at night in this area around the Hotel . I haven't any complaints about my room or my double bed which was very comfortable . I had the hotels little breakfast each morning before my out the door business . I am planning to move to Amsterdam very soon . I have spent some time here since 1987 . When I used to be a Driver for a gentleman from Israel and his partner . I got a chance to spend a little time in a few European city's alone exploring after my job was over . Amsterdam seems to be calling me back for good . I would go around the city by my rental bike everyday . I am easy to please in this city . The people here are very pleasant and easy to get along with . I am of Norwegian descent from my father being born in Norway .So I am first generation away from Norway . …
Great location! We ended up extending our stay and the front desk staff was really helpful. Their covid measures made it a bit less ‘business as usual’ with no housekeeping and get your own supplies from the front desk- because of that though, our room felt like our own and we stayed with no worries!
We had an amazing time at hotel Roemer! We would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone! The hotel is near the Vondelpark and a short walk away from the Albert Cuyp market and the city centre. The guy from the reception made us feel very welcome. Of course everything was very different because of the Covid pandemic, but the staff was very friendly and helpful (for example, they provided us some plates and cutlery when we ordered food in the hotel room). The room we stayed in (executive room, on the garden side) definitely exceeded our expectations. The bed was huge and very soft, the jacuzzi was amazing and there was a double shower and a sitting area. Perfect for a weekend getaway in Amsterdam!
Well I’m on my last day in the hotel having flown here on Friday for a last minute business meeting. All I can say about the place is the staff are amazing, in the UK this would be 5* service without a doubt. The staff served me to the point I felt bad at how hard they work! If you’re looking for the best hotel in Amsterdam that is in a quiet location but close enough to local amenities then check out hotel roemer. Tom Leeds, UK.
