Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To put it lightly staying at Hotel des Arts Amsterdam could be one of the worst decisions you will ever make. If you are coming to Amsterdam for any reason other than suffering, I urge you to end your consideration of Hotel des Arts. The aforementioned warning comes as a result of 3 friends, 3-night stay at said hotel in July 2019. We are confident in prior assertions as a result of but not limited to: the cleanliness of the hotel, the lack of reasonable air filtration/maintenance of temperature, the staff, the quality of the breakfast, quality of the rooms, and the price of the hotel. Hotel des Arts Amsterdam is an overwhelmingly unclean hotel. The room upon our initial entrance to the hotel would be fair to describe as being satisfactorily clean. However, the problems with

Stayed in Hotel Des Arts recently, the staff were super helpful and friendly. There was construction taking place but this didn't really effect us and they offered complimentary soft drinks to ease the hassle. The location is fantastic 15-20 minute walk from the train station canal front veiw. Would recommend for sure and go there again.

We were overjoyed with the room and view! Our room had an amazing view of the canal! The staff was extremely helpful in directions and suggestions. Great breakfast. Great location. Loved everything about it!

This place doesn’t even deserve the title “hotel”. A motel or inn would be a better description. I was shocked to find that they had no elevators or air conditioning. Okaaay so maybe not atypical for that side of town. But all our drama began at check in, when we arrived. I was so disappointed in the look of the hotel when we arrived that I tried to switch hotels. The Front desk person was unprofessionally dressed in jeans and sneakers. The whole place was to a very poor standard. I tried to find another hotel and called around desperately for over 2 hours but It was too late at night and most were booked. This hotel Des Arts has a very narrow, winding staircase and we were expected to carry our bags to the third floor ourselves. We asked for help with the bags and the

We stayed here for three night and we booked a room for four people. The room was big enough to stay just three night. It was cleaned every morning. The kind service especially for Virginia, the receptionist, was pleasant. For breakfast you can find bread, jam, chocolate cream, muffin, cured meats, yogurt and whatever you want for drink. There was no elevator, so it was difficult with luggages. The price was not expensive because the hotel was in centre of the city, close to stop metro and tram.

The Hotel is very close to everything ( Shops and Museum). Not the newest one but clean. Staff is very friendly and i loved the family atmosphere because it's small and not crowded. Breakfast was nice, totally enough for my taste. Our Room was not to the street and therefore quiet. Just heard the Peoples walking around sometimes in the room above.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here as part of his 30th birthday celebrations. The room we had was on the 4th floor and very spacious but basic. The breakfast was lacking we came down one morning to no eggs, would be nice to have more than one person serving when it is busy. The buffet could of been better organised and there could have been more of a selection. The hair dryers were like a light breeze could be improved. All in all if you are looking for a central location this is the hotel. Staff on the front desk were very friendly and approachable and were helpful.

Best stay i have ever had. Delicious breakfast ( many thanks to Vincenzo :) ) Also the most friendly staff ( both Lisa, Ramona, and the others ). The location of the hotel is perfect. You can go anywhere you want by walk. The view of the room is insanely beautiful and clean. In the morning, you will be open your window through the canal view and it is dreamy! Staffs are solving your problems or questions in the best and faster way they could have. I looking forward to visit again! Thank you soooo much!

I booked for 3 nights in a single room. I’ve stayed in these rooms before & expected some noise, the 2 single rooms are located on the 1st floor by reception. Unfortunately, due to the building renovations in the reception area it was impossible to have an afternoon nap on first day until after 5 pm. I was fairly tired as I was up very early but at least these works (which are long overdue) are taking place. The room (numb 1) was okay but you get what you pay for this means basic. It was missing the safe and for some reason the sinks don’t have plugs. The mattress and pillows were comfortable and the room was clean, unfortunately, a lot of noise from staff at 7 am by 7:30 I asked them to stop which they did to some degree. The toilet wasn’t cleaned on day 2. On Sunday I was

The location is great, staff is nice and it’s a small old hotel. The room was clean and always fresh towels. Only part I can complain about are the beds in our bedroom were horror. I ordered a double bed and got two old and really bad beds. One bed was way too soft and you could feel the springs through and the other one was hard (like laying on the floor) and also the springs are through. But overall you get what you pay for.
