We stayed here as a family of five in the room on the first floor with a double and three singles. The stairs to the room were pretty steep, but, as it is a traditional old Amsterdam building that was to be expected! The room was clean and comfortable with an ensuite shower room. Fresh towels were provided each day...

The hotel is beautiful from the outside and is in a great location. You are only a 10 minute walk from the Rembrant Plain and very central for all the attractions. We walked everywhere and saw everything! The hotel room we had (303) was a little tired and could do with a bit of TLC, but it had a very...

Stayed for a long weekend with my partner, view was lovely from our room and the hotel is great value for money considering the location and when I booked this hotel the only other alternatives I could find for this price were hostels so really good value for money. Wifi is very fast, rooms clean and the beds are very...

I had booked this hotel last year to stay in February 2017, as this was a long time ago I had forgotten about the reservation I had made which is an honest mistake, I didn't book flights to follow up this reservation. I received no emails from the hotel or booking.com to remind me of the booking I had made...

I booked early so I got a good rate for the location. + Luggage hold area for early arrival + Room clean and comfortable.+ Shower drainbacked up a little - complimentary tea/coffee + complimentary wifi + no lift - (my room on 1st floor so no problem) European hotel, stairs are narrow, it's not glamourous but a place to rest...

Just back from weekend in Amsterdam. Very disappointed with this hotel we were placed on the fifth floor, stairs very steep and dangerous with very small steps especially carrying luggage. The room was very small and the shower room /toilet was so small had to get undressed/changed in bedroom. The drains stank. And it was expensive for the quality of...

We loved our rooms here. Great place to stay and explore Amsterdam. The breakfast was great €7 and a good selection of breads, cereals, coffee, and juice. The atmosphere is more like a hostel, so if you are looking for a fancy hotel, this might not be the best choice, but if you are looking for a place with character...

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful upon arrival. We arrived early in the morning 9am, and although our room wasn't quite ready (they would have been happy to check us in early but the room was still occupied - understandable!), they let us leave our luggage there and offered us the free tea and coffee and biscuits. We...

Our room was on fifth floor and there is no elevator! Everything would be good if there were nice stairs, but they were terrible! So tiny, my foot couldn't fit in. And we had two bigger baggages which were very hard to carry all the way to the fifth floor with so tiny stairs. Our room was small, window in...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
