We were a group of 7 couples staying for an art filled weekend . The hotel has a fantastic upmarket vibe and location. Every single member of staff was warm, friendly and super efficient. Our rooms were ready early as requested . All transport organised smoothly , everything on time . Food was of a very high standard . Breakfast...

Fabulously stylish hotel in the museum area, quiet at night, great shopping nearby, good restaurants. Hotel breakfast is wonderful, staff amazingly helpful and friendly. Great gym with boxing gloves and punch bags. Spa (didn't use sorry) and pool. Only negatives for me was not enough vegan options on the room service menu and the lighting in the room was a...

This hotel just does not understand the concept of service. If you care to go for breakfast or drinks, you'd better be prepared for a long long waiting time and ignorance. It easily takes 15 minutes to get "noticed" by a waiter during breakfast. Then another 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee. When asked to do things a...

We are very familiar with Amsterdam after many trips. We usually stay at the fabulous Conservatorium which is very close to major museums -- Rijks and Stedelijk -- and the Concertgebouw. This last trip, we split our stay of two weeks between the Waldorf Astoria on Herengracht in the central canal district and the Conservatorium. Both renovated places feature great,...

Enjoyed a 5 day stay recently. Was impressed with the renovation. Truly a 5 star hotel. The staff was responsive to every request. Really enjoyed the bar- small but always hopping. Tenders are real mixologist. Hotel is very conveniently located to shopping and museums and restaurants. Highly recommend.

The Conservatorium Hotel was a tasteful and sophisticated modern hotel in a great city. Very conveniently located to the Riks and Van Gough Museum, it was just outside the ring of canals so that it was quieter at night, but close to the action of the city. The facilities were perfect, including the incredible spa and pool area. The room...

My Conservatorium experience was flawless - from the exceptionally well prepared staff to the fantastic, gadget-packed room. It's one of the very few hotels I can't fault, down to the finest detail. Don't miss the spa either.

This hotel was incredible. It's absolutely beautiful and the staff are brilliant - to be expected for the price! The touches such as a fresh class of juice whilst we checked in, and complimentary beverage of choice whilst we waited for our room to be prepared (even though we were early) were a bonus. They have a member of staff...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
