If you like to be pampered, this hotel offered everything you expect from a 5 star Virtuoso property. I enjoyed the fast check-in, the relaxing ambiance in the lobby, the excellent quality of sleep, the quietness (no noise from the corridor, the street or neighbouring rooms). Interestingly designed bathroom, a spacious room. Breakfast at the Brasserie was a delight, great...

I LOVED this hotel. The service was amazing from check-in to check-out. The lobby is very unique as it is an enclosed atrium. With the unique layout comes the issue of noise for people who have rooms facing the lobby. I warn all who come, if you are sensitive to noise at all hours of the night (including people shrieking...

Classic example of attempting to create a first class hotel out of an historical property and missing the opportunity. Upon arrival you are dropped of in a crowded parking area with no place for the taxi to turn around mostly because of the impression of luxury with fancy cars taking up most of the space. In fact while we were...

Our spring break started at the Conservatorium! Our rooms were ready early as we were quite jet lagged! Loved the duplex, the bed (sooo comfortable ... loved the lavender linen spray) and the lighting system. The upstairs bathroom was perfect for me ... the depth of the sink/mirror was just right! The ambiance is a perfect mix of majestic architecture...

We write in praise of the thoughtful, courteous Conservatorium people who will go out of their way to make your stay fabulous. We recently had two very different reservation glitches at two very different hotels in two Northern European cities. The Conservatorium solved the problem quickly and easily and won our continuing support. In contrast a supposedly five star Cologne...

My wife and I stayed here with two friends for four nights. We had Superior Duplex rooms, which have the bedroom area up a steep flight of stairs, suspended above the living area, all in the roof space of the hotel. These rooms are probably the best value in the hotel but you do have to be quite agile to...

This Hotel hits the spot. Well trained staff, well appointed rooms and the Breakfast Buffet is something one should not miss. Very pleasantly surprised by the service we received (except for one hiccup which was well handled), and most definitely, will return.,

We came for 3 nights to enjoy the center of Amsterdam . The hotel is perfectly located nearby the van Gogh museum and the national Rijks museum. Furthermore there are trams stations in front of the hotel. The rooms are well arranged with 2 tv sets 2 bathrooms and a lot commodities. The breakfeast is very diversified with amazing choices......

The Conservatorium Hotel may be the most outstanding hotel I have ever experienced. Situated adjacent to Amsterdam's Museumplein and just a short walk to the city center, this converted music conservatory combines architectural interest with modern luxury. The staff - from the front desk and concierge to the chamber service and valet teams - are polite, knowledgeable, and anticipate the...

The Conservatorium is a great place to stay as the location cannot be beat, the staff is extremely helpful and the building itself is architecturally unique. Because of heritage of the building the ease of getting to some of the rooms can be a bit of a hassle but well worth the stay. The rooms themselves (at least the duplex...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
