I did not stay in the Hotel, but each time I go to Amsterdam I stop by at the Conservatorium to have coffee. For sure it´s niciest place in Amsterdam for it. The inner courtyard was closed in a modern glass structure. The furniture and nice service creates a nice ambient. The coffee comes with little sweets, the tea is...

We choose this hotel because of the location (Museumplein), but we enjoyed our stay because of so much more than just that. When we checked in, we were told that we were the guests of the day (they choose one every day) and the we were given an upgrade to a suite. We also received a 20% discount on the...

I stayed at this hotel for three nights in February and I could not have picked a better place. It is a very interesting building, former bank and former music conservatory, beautifully adapted to a luxury hotel. The location was perfect, a 5 minute walk to All the main museums, next to a beautiful great park. There are several good...

We are thrilled that you loved our beautifully renovated building along with its location near the Vondelpark and a stone’s throw away from all the major art museums in Amsterdam. Hotel has a very interesting layout, the reception area is impressive. It is very conveniently located (close to main museums), has 2 exits on different streets and is in a walking distance to the city center. Breakfast was superb. Staff made everything to make my stay pleasant.

Coolest hotel in holland. From awesome restaurants to, cool bar, super art collections and uber trendy architecture, this is the place to be. Last weekend it hosted Dutch Vogues 5th bday party and had everyone from Lara Stone, Doutzen, & Mario Testino staying there. That should say enough. There is also high end shopping available within, in the form of...

This is one of my favorite hotels in the world. Starting with the hotel itself: service is super friendly, attentive and fast - helping you where they can in a nice manner, not too stiff, but professional. They organized tickets for the Van Gogh museum for me, very last minute, without any hassle, for example. The rooms are beautiful, modern,...

We were staying at the Conservatorium for 2 nights and from check in to check out the service was very efficient and professional. The room was good, although the air conditioning was faulty on the first night, but fixed quickly once reported the next day. We ate in Taiko which was very good, the lounge had great cakes and our...

I have stayed in many 5/6 star hotels around the world, and the Conservatorium is definitely one of the finest that I have stayed in. I do not want to repeat what other posters have said, but it is a magnificent unique property and staffed by individuals who are genuinely happy to be working there and will do all that...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
