Camped 3 day nights in this location, all three of those nights were pretty much really quite and enjoyable. There is enough space for your tent and yourself, toilets are really close, warm showers are availabe from 6 a.m to 12 a.m., with individual cabines, so you have your privacy. Both toilets and showers are clean. Reception was very friendly and helpful. You either take the bus (line 35 (to station Noord)) to Noorderpark and take the metro (line 52 (to Zuid)) to Centraal Station or you just walk to Noorderpark which takes you about 10-15 minutes and take the metro and you are right in the city center and ready to explore. There is also a Supermarket close by (Dirk van den Broek), maybe 7-8 minutes by foot, so if you don't feel like eating out, you can also buy something there. The only thing that bothered me was, that it was really hard to find something to eat after 10 p.m.. But I guess that is the dutch lifestyle or at least I got told that. But still it was a really enjoyable stay!!!

We decided to stay here as it was close to Amsterdam CS and walkable.
From our Motorhome to the free walking/cycling ferry was about 25 minutes steady walk. You also pass a supermarket for supplies on the way back.
Driving to the campsite was relatively easy and great signage dotted around so keep an eye for them. We drove straight onto our site, this information was supplied as soon as payment was confirmed. The email gives address, gate code, site number and wifi code, so no mucking around on arrival which was great.
Compared to other places we stayed at it is a bit expensive but you pay for the convenience of location.
Nice friendly staff. Who do there best to help you.
The facilities are basic but clean, there is also a restaurant on site, but check timings this time of year, we had breakfast there one morning and it was good.
How we judge a place is by two ways, would we recommend and would we stay again and the answer to both is yes.
Bit of advice if thinking of staying ensure you book, we there Wednesday and Thursday and they were fully booked .

I felt very welcome by the staff members they are very friendly and helpful. you are able to recharge your Powerbank or your cellphone at the reception or safe guard your most valuables while your not at your camping location. I also liked the fact that a bus station was really close by and we were able to get into the city very quickly either by metro or by ferry which in itself is something i would recommend doing because ferry transport is free of charge for everyone. The campingsite has 2 wet facilities including bathrooms and one is open 24/7. Checkin is until 10pm and that is great if you arrive very late because of your travel connection. the camping site is very clean and has a lot of trees and bushes and nature and offers a small shop and also a bar with snacks with breakfast opportunities. I was there with my tent and there were some bungolows that really looked nice and werent so big. Next time i really wanne try one of those. Spares one the time necessary to build up a tent and count in the time for departure packing everything takes longer with a tent. We had a really great stay! See you next time!

There were several young employees there, who were very kind. I was allowed to park my car inside the gate which helped me a lot. Also wifi connection and power socket were there at the reception, so I managed to arrange some personal duties with no problem.

We rented a cabin for 5 people to spend 2 nights in this campsite. Although the máximum capacity of the cabin is for four people the staff was very kind and suggested us to carry a inflattable matrix for the fifth person without any extra charges. The cabins are not provided with sanitary facilites, but the toilet and showers are very close to the cabins. I particularly appreciated the fact that there was a tap inside the cabin, very useful to wash your hands ir even drink water.

Imagine a small campsite with immaculate gardening, large plots and super friendly staff. Add a warm an cozy café ( alas closed after noon in winter) large and free shower stalls that are kept spotless. Place this in the middle of a lovely forest for dog walks and you have a really lucky find. No wonder all guests greet each other. You feel at home and perfectly safe!

A great camp site. The toilets are clean, and everything is well kept. The receptionists are very nice and there is always somebody at the reception. At night the gates are closed but you can still enter any time by typing in your personal 4 digit code. The neighbors are also very nice aspecialy if you are going to Amsterdam to smoke some cannabis. One of our neighbors before leaving gave us the rest of his stash.
The only con I could think of is if you are person who feels disturbed by people consuming drugs of all sorts around you, vliegenbos is probably not for you.
If you are open minded, don't care about drugs or even love them and are looking for a relatively cheep stay in Amsterdam I can totally recommend to you the campsite Vliegenbos.

Great experience at this campsite in Amsterdam. Walkable distance from Central Station (you catch the ferry for free and then have a pleasant 20 minutes walk along a river). Bike rental available. It's a great way of living Amsterdam and getting back to nature to relax from the city hustle.
There are kitchens available for guests to cook and chill out and a nice bar restaurant. Nice grass pitches for tents. Clean bathrooms and showers.
Really a good vibe from the staff, kind and helpful to make you enjoy your stay.
I would definitely recommend it.

We spent 1 night at Vleigenbos.
We spent 2 weeks during a European tour and this site was the most expensive and it was a wood hip car park. But I gather that the Netherlands are more expensive than some of Europe.
Nonetheless, the campsite is lovely and the staff were great.
It’s about a 5 minute walk from the metro station which takes you into central Amsterdam.
The facilities were nice and cleaned.

They camp site itself will not have any issues with you sleeping 5 in a 4 person tent - they charge per person and not per tent.
