Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

cool concept very poor execution. the rooms are tiny, like think tiny and then think smaller. i’m so relieved i booked the canal view otherwise i couldn’t have stayed the night (but even then we couldn’t open the window). the rooms are clean, the led lights are cool but it was so so hot. 20 degrees outside and we felt like we were in a sauna. the bathroom is nice but it’s small for the number of people staying. often had to wait 5 mins before using the toilet. there was no atmosphere, guests kept to themselves. i’d booked for a long weekend, but we left after one night like others i’ve seen.

nice staff. Clean. Communal bathroom. Broken locks on shower doors. Hairdryers not working. Small sink with mirror above so cant put face over sink to rinse. when you step into your tiny room there is 1m x 1m of floor space. They have divided one small room horizontally into two separate cubicles. There is nowhere to sit in the room. A tall person would have difficulty sitting up on the bed. Very small room. They call them cubes. No windows except onto main hallway. I saw two people sitting in the hallway to be more comfortable using their phones. And two people packing their suitcases in the hallway for lack of space in their room. If these cubes were rented out with full disclosure in the advert and at a fair price it would be acceptable. But that isnt the case. This place is way overpriced. I felt like I had been ripped off. I definitely would not stay there again.

Perfect for sleeping and storing the luggage, which is exactly what we needed! Nice and helpful staff. The atmosphere was cozy and the place felt clean. Slight downside is how warm the room got in the night. We also got the absolutely smallest room which was fine with us but beware it’s cramped. But I’m definitely staying here next time I’m in Amsterdam.

I actually didn’t end up getting to go because my wallet got stolen the day before. But I explained my situation and they refunded my money, which they weren’t obligated to do. Gained a lot of respect.

It’s been decades since I stayed at a hostel, but this was a surprisingly good experience! The rooms are - as the name says - cubistic, very small, just containing a 140cm wide bed. Even though I’m mildly claustrophobic, I had no problem, sleeping in the surprisingly comfortable mattress with two pillows. Room had air conditioning. The bathrooms are coed and outside of the rooms, but clean with hot water, rains forest showers and enough clean towels and washcloths. It was surprisingly quiet, except for usual noises of partygoers coming back in the wee hours of the morning, but you can have this anywhere in Amsterdam. Only negative point are the very loudly slamming doors and a bit complex automated check-in process. Extremely friendly service, with free good coffee in the morning. I paid over 50% less than I would pay for Amsterdam hotels! Would definitely recommend.

This is a hybrid between a hostel and a hotel. You get a cube for yourself with a queensize bed and an open closet, nothing else. It's small and mine had no windows to the outside, just small ones to the hallway. The bathroom is shared, but the showers are closed off and with a lockable door. It works just fine if you're staying in Amsterdam for just a few days and are on a budget. This is way cheaper than a proper hotel, which is quite expensive in Amsterdam. This Ho(s)tel is located in the middle of city centre of Amsterdam. I was worried it would be noisy, but I was placed on the 4th floor and heard nothing from the streets. I was a bit unlucky with my room being right next to the lift so I could hear people going in and out of it. They offer ear buds for free if you are a light sleeper, but for me it was fine and I fell quickly back to sleep. The room and the bathroom were clean and tidy. My biggest gripe was that the room was a bit warm for my Scandinavian taste. There is no A/C in the cube, but a common ventilation system. I.e. not sufficating in terms of oxygen, but you cannot change the temp. Overall I had a good experience, very helpful and nice staff. If you want to live cheaper, but with a sort of luxury of having your own room, I think you won't find a better place for a better price in the middle of the city centre.

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Amsterdam. This place is located in a great location in the middle of all the action. I arrived in the morning and was able to check in early. This place is more of a micro hotel with tiny rooms and it does not have the amenities traditional hostels have. The pod was clean and comfortable. I was only in the pod to sleep. I had a bed on the bottom, but would choose a top bed next time as I think it will make the pod feel larger. The staff were fine. The shared bathrooms were nice and clean. They are unisex showers and toilets though. The bar downstairs was nice but close at 11pm. The Mexican restaurant is also good. This place is a little noisy. The pods are not sound proof so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The elevator sometimes was slow as it was also used by the cleaning staff. Overall, this place is a good option for those on a budget and only plan on sleeping in the room.

Before coming to this hostel I read many different opinions which were mostly good. This persuaded me into trying out a hostel, something I have never done before. Big mistake. Upon arrival check in was fine, it was a self service desk which made things a lot easier for me personally. We were instructed to go to the third floor and received an even number room (bed on floor) Once we finally reached the room we quickly left our bags and went out to explore the city. Upon returning very late, I noticed that our bedding had not been changed. There was a lot of dust and tiny little hairs all over the bed. This was alarming to me however it was very late and myself and my partner are very socially awkward so did not inform anyone about this. Obviously a big mistake. I decided to take a shower that night and realised that the bathroom was in fact unisex. I was not aware of this as in many reviews that I read people said there were male and female bathrooms. This was somewhat correct, in the bathroom there are 2 separate toilets one with a symbol for men and one for women. The showers however are unisex. There are no hooks or shelves to hang your clothes in the shower cubicle so I had to lay all my clothes on the floor where they got soaked during my shower. The showers are also not in "rooms" like the toilets so you can hear everything going on outside. This made me very uncomfortable. As well, there were no hairdryers in the bathrooms as advertised in pictures. On the 2nd night of my stay, when going to brush my teeth in the morning I noticed an insanely horrible smell coming from the bathroom. It smelled like sulphur-rotten egg. I quickly realised it was the smell of sewage which was possibly coming from the showers. After the cleaners came the smell would be gone for about 4 hours (or shall I say masked) and then return during night time. My partner found the smell unbearable and went to wash himself on the floor below us. The rooms in general are awful. They are way too small and the option for 2 people to stay here should not exist. Myself and my partner had to wait in bed for one another to get dressed as there was simply no space for 2 people to stand up and get ready. The room was also incredibly warm. We slept in T-shirts and underwear for the duration of the stay. The blinds in our room were also broken. There was mould all over the bin in our room. And you can hear practically everything going on outside the rooms etc. On the last day of my stay here I noticed the insane amount of dust and dirt that had accumulated on the side of the bed. Simply awful. When leaving the hotel, we asked for our luggage to be held. They agreed and brought us out of the hotel, down an alleyway where the “luggage room” was. They handed us tokens with numbers to identify our bags. Upon arrival for our bags I handed the women our tokens which she did not take from us but instead left us to choose which bags were ours. This is very irresponsible as anyone could take the wrong bag resulting in loss of property. All in all, the hotel looks beautiful on the outside with modern decor in the reception, restaurant and halls however the rooms are dirty and not up to a good standard. The bathrooms are nothing like the pictures. They lack amenities, smell, and are simply disgusting. I would not recommend this hotel.
