The bottom line is that this is a fine place to stay. The room was a nice size with plenty of room for our suitcases and to move around. The bathroom was clean, spacious, and modern. Breakfast is a variety of cereals, breads, juices, yogurt, granola, tea and coffee, meats and cheeses, and fruits. The location is excellent, and perhaps...

This is a very comfortable and reasonably priced hotel in a great area. Walking distance to the main museums, the flower market and some good eating places at Rembrandt square. The district of Amstel is what you would expect of a visit to Amsterdam with small canals and traditional houses. The hotel has views over the 'Skinny Bridge' a point...

I stayed at this hotel with my daughter and husband for 4 nights during the cold winter month of December and never once felt cold in our room. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and most importantly spacious. While the ammenities are limited to shower gel and shampoo, access to the tea room is open 24/7. Small inconveniences in...

We stayed a couple of night there. The location was excellent, just beside the amstel river and walking distance to local restaurants and popular sights. The breakfast was good, staff were friendly. The room was nice and spacious. It's a three star hotel but it's a bit pricy like four star.

We decided to stay over, driving home was not an option after the party. Excellent hotel in centre of town with adequate facilities. Too bad: our room did not have a window. Breakfast was alright and well assorted.

We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room overlooked the canal and was large which is a great bonus in Amsterdam hotels and was extremely clean . We had forgotten to bring a plug adapter but when asked at reception if they could help they...

The Bridge Hotel is basic but homely. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean and had a great view of the canal. It was quiet and only a few minutes outside of the city centre by tram. I recommend the small bar on the corner of the road by the tram stop!

I've spend a night on that hotel during a business trip. Situation is interesting. Nice service for a late checking and an early checkout. Breakfast was correct and the room was clean and spacious. 4 on 5 for the nice view!

Our room had a lovely view over the canal. The bed was super-comfortable and the place was spotlessly clean. It would have been nice to have been provided with some soap/gel for the basin, but plenty of shower gel and shampoo was supplied. We stayed on 17th and 18th November. The staff on the 19th were over-brisk and not very...

The hotel is situated in a quiet street along the Amstel, just 10-15 minutes walk from the city centre. Rooms were big, nice and clean. Friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast buffet was also OK. Thumbs down for no glutenfree bread or lactose-free dairy. Thumbs up that the breakfast hall is open till 10:30.

Thank Bernt-Johnny B

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
