We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room overlooked the canal and was large which is a great bonus in Amsterdam hotels and was extremely clean . We had forgotten to bring a plug adapter but when asked at reception if they could help they...

The Bridge Hotel is basic but homely. The room we stayed in was comfortable, clean and had a great view of the canal. It was quiet and only a few minutes outside of the city centre by tram. I recommend the small bar on the corner of the road by the tram stop!

I've spend a night on that hotel during a business trip. Situation is interesting. Nice service for a late checking and an early checkout. Breakfast was correct and the room was clean and spacious. 4 on 5 for the nice view!

Our room had a lovely view over the canal. The bed was super-comfortable and the place was spotlessly clean. It would have been nice to have been provided with some soap/gel for the basin, but plenty of shower gel and shampoo was supplied. We stayed on 17th and 18th November. The staff on the 19th were over-brisk and not very...

The hotel is situated in a quiet street along the Amstel, just 10-15 minutes walk from the city centre. Rooms were big, nice and clean. Friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast buffet was also OK. Thumbs down for no glutenfree bread or lactose-free dairy. Thumbs up that the breakfast hall is open till 10:30.

This hotel is near everything of importance in Amsterdam. You can go everywhere on foot. Nice hotel with nice people, who will give good advice. The room was very clean and we slept very well on the bed.

If you are by chance bound to a wheelchair, or you have trouble climbing stairs, this is not the hotel for you. If, however, you are not daunted by climbing stairs with your luggage this is a perfect hotel to stay. The rooms are clean and in general have a nice view. The hotel is located almost next door to...

Yes, steps to reception, steps to rooms, steps to breakfast - BUT, if a few stairs don't bother you - then this is the place for you. The location is central, but quiet! Next door to the Carre Theater, a block or two from the Hermitage museum and opera house. Walking distance or canal ride to Van Gogh and Rijks...

Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is modern and bright. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was on the top floor and with no lift this meant a lot of stairs to climb. Breakfast was good. There was a reasonable choice but having read previous reviews we were a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong the breakfast...

The best thing I liked about The Bridge Hotel is the hearty breakfast. Not only are there a good variety of food, including breads, cheese, eggs, olives, ham, yogurt, juice, jam, honey, tea, coffee, etc., but there are sliced cucumbers and tomatoes--very important for someone who likes vegetables in general and who feels deprived of them on trips when it...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
