Caught the 197 bus from airport. Then a 15 minute walk to hotel. We arrived early and had a very warm welcome. We could not check in but it was no problem to leave luggage. We returned at 2pm and immediately checked in. The room was spacious and clean with television. The shower was fantastic with plenty of clean towels,...

Stayed here recently (3 nights) and you could not get a better location. Slightly outside the main hustle/bustle but everything is within a fifteen minute walk. Room was basic, but clean and warm. Our view was poor (back of the hotel) but very quiet! Breakfast was perfectly adequate for our needs and the breakfast room allows plenty of people watching...

Around 10+ times here, but first time in 3 Years. As good as ever, polite and efficient welcome, lovely corner room with panoramic canal view. The breakfast room with views of daily Amsterdam life cycling by. Perfectly situated to explore the Jordaan and the Nine Streets. Certainly won't leave it 3 Years next time!

Stayed here with my partner for 4 nights, Monday to Friday. It's a great, quirky, clean, warm, cosy place to stay that is in a great location. We didn't ask for a room with a view, but we seemed to get one anyway! The room was clean and warm as was the bathroom. You get a safe and a TV...

Friendly, cheerful warm hotel situated on a corner. Steep narrow staircase up to our room, which was clean and comfortable. Good choice of buffet breakfast, taken in a room that overlooks a busy (cycle wise) cross roads. Fascinating to watch the manoeuvrings of pedestrians, cyclists and the occasional car whilst eating a leisurely breakfast. Would stay here again, good location...

The hotel is just at the center of everything on foot: Museums, restaurants, Dam Square, Flower Market, etc... The breakfast menu was decent. The staff was very kind and helpful. Great value for the price!

Based right next to the canal in the centre of Amsterdam. You can't beat the location everything is 10-15 minutes walking distance. It's on a quiet street so sleeping at night is not a problem. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast is small but efficient. Rooms were fine, clean and spacey. We had a room looking over...

I loved this hotel, its very old fashioned and its quirkiness fits in with the whole Amsterdam feel. It is in walking distance of everything. The room was sufficient, and had what was needed. Plus its enough out the way to get a good nights sleep with no Noise yet isn't to far to go out and venture or to...

Don't ask for an upper leveol if you have heavy luggage....no lift. Very helpful staff. Served a great breakfast. Homey atmosphere. Their dog greeted us in the lobby. Be sure to bring a warm coat if you are traveling in the first part of May. I ended up buying a coat.

The hotel, on the outer canal Prinsengracht in the 9 Streets area, sits in a prime location within walking distance of Centrum, the oldest historical core, the Centraal station, and the many museums outside the canal ring. There's no spa or fitness centre or room service like 5 star hotels but in return you get good value for your room....

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
