This is a cozy two stars hotel with helpful staff and lovely room. Breakfast is OK, but not too rich. Location is good, near supermarket, pub, and public transportation available in 5 minutes’ walk. Environment was very calm and cool.

This hotel is located next to the canal within a 10 minute walk from anywhere in town. Good sized and very clean rooms with friendly desk staff. We stayed in 136 which has view directly over the canal and down a busy pedestrian street. This is a reasonable price for Amsterdam and I will stay again. Just remember to get...

Great welcome to the hotel, the staff were very friendly and polite. They gave upgraded our bedroom to a canal view as our initial booking didn't have a double bed. Great location and very clean! Would stay again any day!

The Weichmann was a great place to stay. Location was easy to walk to sights, breakfast was so good and the charm of the old hotel was nice. The staff was helpful. Be aware you do need to take your own luggage up narrow curving stairs. We did have offers of help but managed on our own.

Loved this hotel, so lucky to have found such a little gem! It's family run, therefore there is amazing furniture and ornaments on display, I'm sure very old too which is just lovely to see. Plenty of places to sit with the free tea and coffee they offer you any time of day or night! The staff are all super...

Stayed 3 nights while exploring Amsterdam. Located on the outer canal ring, 5 minute walk to the tram lines, 20 to the Riksmuseum and Van Gogh, 15 to the Anne Frank. At the corner of the "9 little streets" area. Lots of places to eat within 10 minute walk. Breakfast in the sunny room on the corner overlooking canal, streets...

Spent 5 nights at the Wiechmann in late March 2017. Well located for walking to most Amsterdam attractions. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was very good and served in a well lit, canal view room on ground floor. Not a "luxury" hotel but more like a comfortable home. The stairs are steep, so you made need help with large pieces of...

The hotel is a pleasant 30 minute walk from the central train station. We arrived early so left our cases and ventured out. We had been allocated a room near the top of the hotel. It had no view but it was clean and perfectly adequate for our 2 night stay. Wi fi worked well. The breakfast room is brilliant....

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
