Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.

We stayed for our first visit to Amsterdam. The location is very good. A traditional hotel overlooking a quiet canal and walking distance to all the sights we visited. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a room overlooking the canal with a small balcony. Comfortable and clean.

A great hotel, if only for the location. On a beautiful canal within easy walking distance of some amazing sights. Definitely book a room with a canal view- it’s more than worth it. The room was basic but spacious and comfortable. As many people have said, the stairs are very

This is a very old fashioned hotel but our room had everything we needed and it was warm and cosy on a very cold night. Don’t stay here if you like plastic style multi-national chain hotels. But do stay here if you like quirky, in a great location on a pretty corner where 2

We travelled on the Amsterdam Airport Express, a public bus ( #397 ), that goes to the bus stop on the Elandsgracht, which is a 6 minute walk from the hotel. It cost €10 return per person and the journey time was approximately 30 mins. The bus departs from a bus stop (platforms B15-19) outside the arrivals terminal at the airport. The service runs very frequently.

The cruise ship terminal us next to the central station, this would be about 10 minutes in a taxi depending on time of day from the Weichmann Hotel. We walked to the central station in about 30 minutes from the hotel. If you fancy a more scenic journey the water taxi on the canal goes to the central station from a stop near the hotel but I don't know how long this would take. If you are on a time schedule, taxi is probably best.

I agree it is about 15 steps. It is not the number of steps but the steep incline. The stairs have a spiral in them so it gets tight and steep. No reason not to stay there unless you have mobility issues

Best way to visit keukenhoff garden from the hotel by bus
Unfortunately, I can’t be of assistance. Wherever we went, we walked. Staff at the hotel is extremely helpful. I am sure they can guide you accordingly. Enjoy your stay. A fabulous place to visit!

Any hotel in Holland will check 16 year old young men in their hotel because your an a adult at 16 in the Netherlands . Its this American culture that thinks you must be 18 to be a Adult . And in Europe people are already all grown up at 15 already . Whats wrong with you American people. ??
