Amsterdam was the first part of our Euro trip & wooooow, it is a MUST any traveler! Prinsenhof is perfectly placed for sightseeing. The tram is literally outside your doorstep which is what you need - and what a pretty street it is, right on a canal. The breakfasts were just right - eggs, cold meats, toast, cheese, fruit etc...

We stayed in the front attic room, which had beautiful canal views from the window sill (you climbed a ladder to sit on the sill). Super steep stairs though, so difficult to get luggage to the room (the hook doesn't go to the top). Good breakfast - amazing coffee.

We have always stayed in this hotel on our annual visits to Amsterdam as it is in a lovely, canalside, upmarket location, close to a tram stop and within walking distance of everywhere. After a break of 6 years we returned to find it just as good as we remembered it. The rooms have been updated and are bright and...

Despite being located in the center of Amsterdam, this small hotel is quiet and restful. Like many Dutch houses, it has VERY steep staircases! Unlike any other Dutch house I've been in, it has a winch to haul suitcases upstairs! The managers are very pleasant and helpful, and a €5 breakfast buffet is available. As I was on a foodie...

General cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding, light open bedroom with canal view was nice to arrive to. Friendly staff and would definitely return for another short break. Maybe add a mini fridge to the rooms to store bottled water and so on. Great stay!

We had four people in a room, four single beds and our room had two sinks, it's ow shower and toilet among with a beautiful view of the canal. I am definitely a fan and will stay again at this location. We didn't have the breakfast so I can't speak to that for €8 but it looked very good in...

I've stayed in other one star Amsterdam hotels before and wasn't expecting a great deal from the Prinsenhof. The usual offering comes with tiny rooms, inadequate bath facilities and mountains of stairs. What a breath of fresh air the Prinsenhof proved to be. Lets start with the location - the tram stop is 50 yards from the front door and...

In 2013 we had a terrific stay with a canal view room in the one star hotel. Wanting the same room after booking early I was advised "rooms have been renovated to include private facilities." I was not expecting to be staying in the attic! 65 steps up with very steep incline. The "canal view" was to climb a ladder...

I was in a twin room, number 9 to be exact. Great facilities, and beautifully modern room. Very clean upon arrival and the host was accomodating. The location is perfect, just take the number 4 tram outside to go to the touristy centre or walk and find plenty to look at on the way. Only downside is there is no...

Located a fair (30-45 minute), yet pleasant, walk from Amsterdam Centraal station, the Hotel Prinsenhof thoroughly met our needs. We had a twin room which was nicely furnished, with an en suite and shower which were generally clean throughout. Room was quiet and we slept well. Only complaint is the sheer amount of steep steps which were unwelcome after a...
