Positive: 1. Very good location. 2. Good price. Negative: 1. Very very very basic rooms, like a hostel and not a 3 stars hotel. 2. The customer service wasn't pleasant at all! 3. The breakfast is very basic. One morning we had to wait in line for 15 minutes. I will not go back to this hotel.

I really enjoyed was going downstairs to breakfast starting at 7:00 and having enough of bread, cereals, juice, coffee or whatever. Very satisfied here. Friendly staff. Actually they were all nice and smiling. And they do speak english. Nice bed. For...

The Hotel is virtually on the Dam Square, it is modern and the rooms are comfy with good showers and bathrooms ( as with many continental hotels no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. The staff at reception are friendly and happy to offer advice to make our stay very enjoyable. I would not stay anywhere else in...

The hotel had a great breakfast, eggs, bacon, fruit, meats, cheese, Spanish rice, breads pastries, coffee tea juices. Staff at reception desk helpful and pleasant, room clean, did not have a tub, just shower, bedding immaculate without spreads, easy 15 minute walk to train station. Price was very reasonable, especially when we were gone for the entire day sightseeing. Free WIFI

Stayed six nights at Rho hotel. Hotel very central....we walked to all the major attractions i.e. Ann Frank house, Van Gogh and Rijskmuseum, Red light district and various others. Room always clean. Staff asked us if we wanted a quiet room and quiet it was. Staff always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast good. Would stay again.

The Hotel is located on Dam Square and within walking distance to many must visit locations. The service is good with friendly and helpful staff helping us even in the middle of the night. The room was large enough to accomadate all three of us without it feeling crowded. For the price is was definitely worth it. The only problem...

When you are on a city break you do not spend much time inside. This hotel is clean and well run and extremely adequate. The breakfast is good although I do love fresh fruit salad not tinned. I always tend to drink coffee as that is good whereas a tea bag in warm water is not. There is a free drinks...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
