Friendly and helpful proprietor and son greeted us upon arrival and really made us feel at home! Would go back tomorrow if we could! Excellent location for visiting the museums close by! Transportation services within two blocks of hotel entrance. Fantastic breakfast provided!

The hotel lived up to the great reviews on Trip Advisor. Located in the museum quarter, close by the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Modern Art museum. Steps away from the tram. Great breakfast buffet--and the owner will make you dutch pancakes if you ask! Good value.

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights in early October. The hotel is within walking distance to the main museums and public transportation (including the bus that takes you to the airport). Overall, room was very clean and the free breakfast was great. One think I would have liked to see is more personal touches since this is family...

Outstanding location close to the museums. So easy to reach via tram. Super helpful and friendly staff. The coffee machine just did it for me. The pancakes at breakfast are to die for. You can also catch the bus to Schippol right opposite the Rijks museum, cost about 5 Euro. Will definitely stay here again.

We stayed for 3 nights after our Viking cruise. Arrived early and we're able to leave our luggage so we could go to Rijks Museum. The owner was very accommodating and gave good suggestions for sightseeing. We had a lovely hot breakfast two mornings but had to leave before the breakfast was served the last day. Front steps are steep...

Tucked down a quiet side street and yet right by the museums. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Great advice about places to visit and eat etc We were made very welcome - thank you.

Staff some of the friendliest I've ever encountered. We arrived very early on a flight from the US and were "buzzed in " and allowed to leave our bags. Unfortunately, there is no lobby or public space here, so we had to wander the streets until a reasonable hour that our room might be ready. (The Marriott close by was...

We recently stayed two nights at the Hotel Fita after arriving from the States. The staff there were very helpful in suggestions for dining, museum visits and even a great place that my wife had her haircut at. Very quiet, convenient part of the city right next to the Museums. Beautiful property that is very well maintained.

I originally choose this hotel for the location - tram stop a few steps away and many areas of interest within walking distance. However on my second stay here - there is much more to recommend it. The rooms are large, with plenty of light and a few have outdoor balconies. The breakfast is excellent - some of the best...

We stayed at the Hotel Fita for 2 nights before a Viking river cruise. Kees and the entire staff were extremely friendly and helpful, both before and during our stay. I emailed them several times before our stay with questions regarding transportation options to the hotel, as well as questions regarding places I wanted to visit while there. Each time...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
