I've stayed here before many years ago when it was the terminus and not a great deal has changed but the hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are helpful enough. The twin bedroom (309) was just the right size for two with all the facilities you'd expect, tv, internet connection, air con etc. With views down onto the...

A simple hotel in the center of amsterdam. From this hotel one can have excess to everywhere easily..train station, coffee shops, dam square, shops, restaurants and takeaway. Its a popular hotel as from we could see people are checking in and out all the time. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable, and good value for money. The only disadvantage...

On a hot day, the window has to be open at night. Noise can be a problem. I stayed there in the summer and was not impressed. Hotel is within walking distance to the train station. Most of the tourist attractions are close by.

If you are attending a meeting at ESTEC in Noordwijk, this is a very advisable place to stay. In several previous visits I tried different hotels in Noordwijk and was systematically disappointed by the combination of abusive seaside resort prices and the limited offer beyond the hotel itself. This hotel is perfectly located 5 minutes (or less) walking from the...

Stayed at The Tulip Inn for 2 nights this weekend past with my 2 friends, we had a triple room which was massive and the beds were soooooooo comfy!! The rooms were very clean and sheets were fresh and new!! The bathroom was very nice and clean, we could not fault it!! Our windows did not look on to anything...

We stayed for 2 nights and the stay was strictly average as far as experience is concerned. Had a long wait for the check in as we had arrived few hours before the "official" check in time. The room was on ground floor with windows opening in an enclosed area thus giving a dull and stuffy feeling in the room....

The Tulip Inn ticked all the boxes for location, perfect... literally around the corner the "Red light "area & in the other direction the top department store & Madame Tussauds & the Canal tours . The room was spacious, tea/coffee making but why only powdered milk ? the room was lovely & warm...but too warm & could not figure out...

The hotel was in a fantastic location, only a 5 minute walk from Central Station. It has lots of good cafes and bars next to it and was comfortable and secure. I would stay here again. For a group of people, couples or families it is a great place to stay

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
