Amsterdam in general is quite expensive but we paid €360 for a 3 night stay, the room was very basic the carpets were permanently stained, under the bed was filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time, our mirror was broken in the corner and left sharp edges that you could of sliced your hand open on, a...

Hotel isn't the most modern but there are worse places to stay in Amsterdam. My room was on the first floor, had what we needed like clean fresh towels and toilet roll everyday, also we forgot to bring an iron but the hotel happily supplied us with one free of charge (ironing board included). Our room was clean, always warm...

Stayed here for 3 nights in October. Looked through the reviews and don't understand why people are saying its dirty and terrible? We had a great stay. Staff were very friendly and went out their way to help you out. Room was spotless and got cleaned everyday. Breakfast was good too. Only a 15-20 minute walk to Dam Square. Will...

Basic hotel not like in the pictures at all. We had 4 rooms and none were like the photographs. Noisy as walls very thin and floorboards creaking. Staff very pleasant good breakfast and handy to see things. Little dated

I've been staying in hostels for over a month and I just wanted a room for a few nights where I could have a room to myself and a bathroom to myself etc. I found this hotel online. It looked clean and modern in the photos. I didn't mind how basic or small it was as long as it was...

Stayed in this hotel last weekend (15/10). The room was dated, with stains on the carpet and ceiling, paint coming off the walls. The bed SHEETS were STAINED (on both beds) and so were the towels. The SHOWER dripped all night and the bottom of it was DIRTY too with stains (rust, dirt and mould everywhere). Very disappointed as it...

The hotel is way different than portrayed in pictures. The room was a good size, however it was not so clean and definitely needs a lot of upgrading! It is quite central, and breakfast was decent enough, however we were told we would have a phone, and in fact, while we did have a phone, it did not work. I...

Good location, 10/15 minute walk to the town centre and 30 minutes walk to the red light district. Trams run if you're not up for the walk but we managed to get lost so just stuck with the walk! Rooms basic and a little run down, our door handle fell off in our hand and the carpet was bleach stained...

My husband and I booked here for a few days away over our wedding anniversary. Very disappointed by just how small the room was as it looked nothing like their photos, there was enough room for a double bed and a desk. We had to practically step over the toilet to get in to the toilet as it was so...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
