I went here with me and around 10 others. The hotel was not expensive and was only around a 25 minute walk to the centre of Amsterdam. The receptionists were very polite and had a great sense of humor, they was very informative and helped us a lot with what to do in Amsterdam. The rooms are a tad basic...

Nice friendly hotel very small rooms but as a base to visit the city it's not bad. About a 20 min walk from dam square so not too bad. Tram stop is a 2 min walk away but I would use uber taxi rather then the city one as Uber is better value to get round the city

I love its location in a residential area with a beautiful church in front of it. It is easy to reach from the tram stop. The room is was in a bit bijoux but I only needed it to sleep. Breakfast is very limited. There are not warm food such as fried eggs. Only boiled eggs. The best thing about...

We spent here 4 nights, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good (although I've eaten better). Our room was well furnished and clean but quite old style. Our room was cleaned every day and we got new towels as well. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is almost in the city centre, the surroundings are clean...

Stayed at the Omega from the 27th-30th Jan with a group of 10. The hotel is a bit of a trek from Central Station so my advice is get a tram. There's 3 that go very near- 2, 5 and 16. An unlimited 48hour ticket will cost €12.50, Well worth it. The hotels itself was ok, dark in decor and...

It's fair to say that the good people of Amsterdam are amongst the friendliest people you could wish to meet! Not at the Omega, we were checked in by who we assume was the manager, he was abrupt, unhelpful and could not have cared less if we stayed there a or not! The rest of his team were very approachable,...

Don't be put of by the poor reviews, this is a nice little hotel in a good location,ok the rooms are a little dated but if they were fully refurbished the price would reflect it.the staff were very welcoming and the continental breakfast was superb for the money. The location is good to right near to the museum quarter and just...

First the positives. Location is excellent, only a few minutes walk from the main museums with plenty of transport links nearby for other attractions. Breakfast is basic but adequate, though the coffee was instant. Unfortunately, that's it. We were sold the hotel as being wheelchair accessible. It isn't. There are 4 steps at the only entrance and more to the...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
