"Mr L" is the manager of a hotel that without him would be a great experience. The reception team like Mario are GREAT but the manager breaks the good experience. It will be impossible to get an invoice. So, do not leave the hotel without the invoice. The location is perfect and the price ok.

I had two reservations at the Cordial Hotel Dam Square, and due to extenuating circumstances -- rushing my father to the Emergency Room, then ICU, then and passed away -- I had to cancel 17 days before the trip. We rebooked our trip, and the hotel would not honor the original reservation even after sending the Death Certificate as they...

We stayed here and the location was epic 😊really close to red light district, train, tram, supermarket and cafes/restaurants/bars and coffee shops. The cheaper rooms are the only ones with actually double beds. If you pay for a bigger room like our friends did you get a twin room. Bit odd that you can't pay for a bigger room with...

I would like to say I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights while celebrating my birthday in Amsterdam and found it brilliant the location exceptionally great .. the rooms offer all you need while being quite compact but clean and tidy and realistically who spends time in the room other than to sleep. I would definitely stay again 😁

The pictures are either outdated or photoshopped - the state of the room was terrible for the price we paid and was probably worth half. Walls were dirty and covered in shoe marks, shower cubicle was faulty - even the pillows on the bed had brown stains on them - it was appalling. I was hoping that the breakfast would...

I've visited Amsterdam 3 times now and two of those visits I stayed in the cordial hotel. It is an amazing hotel very central and the rooms are quite big and very modern. 5-10 min walk from red light district and 5-10 min walk to the closest coffee shop! It's placed perfectly in between Madame tusauds and the Amsterdam dungeons!...

if you don't want to get cold or sick, never stay at this hotel!!! This hotel is not clean also! Especially the staff who is working at nights was so rude! Amsterdam is very cold city in winter, this hotel's air condition devices are not opening by hotel policy! Not broken or defected, they are controlling it from reception, and...

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
