Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I will start out with the best service that we encountered, that being the concierges! They are all exemplary! To be specific, David and Dennis were unbelievably helpful and accommodating to us during our stay. My husband had a terrible mishap with his knee, and the hotel provided him with a wheelchair which then made it possible for him to do everything we had planned to do whilst in Amsterdam! Thank you concierge crew! I wish I knew all of their names, as they were all so helpful! Honestly, they all stand out as the best concierges that we have experienced at any of the other hotels that we've stayed at! Now, the rooms...the first leg of the trip we stayed in a tiny box! The second leg, we requested a bigger room which we did get, but the air conditioner did not work properly, even after multiple calls to the front desk to address the issue. The bathroom had an under counter light that we couldn't turn off, and a pocket door that took all our strength to open and close! I will say that the housekeeping did an excellent job! Clearly from this review its easy to surmise that my husband was handicapped. The entrance to the hotel has stairs, and no ramp which was extremely difficult to climb for him. They were doing some construction at the time, so perhaps that is being remedied. Additionally, to get to the restaurant for breakfast there are also stairs, and no railing! (At least the entry way has railings). When he was in the wheelchair, they had a removable ramp, but without the help of 3 people, he would have careened into whatever was in front of the stairs! The food was good, and I'd say that the dinner was excellent! All in all this is a great place to stay, however not so much if you're wheelchair bound! Thus the 4 stars instead of 5. Once again, I'd like to emphasize how amazing the concierges all are!

Hotel's Favourite
My second trip to Amsterdam, this time I wanted to focus on the flowers. My only complaint is the ultra modern bench sofa--a waste of space for it's usability and with its dark, boxy end, it provides a an easy thing to trip over. In my opinion, a small table between two chairs would have been more practical.

If you want luxury in the heart of Amsterdam with everything within walking distance, this is the place! Just a stones throw from Amsterdam Central, we were given a warm welcome and checked into our room a little early and with an upgrade to a city view to celebrate my partners birthday! Comfortable, spacious and high spec rooms with great amenities, gorgeous spa facilities and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had, cannot wait to return! Thank you for having us!

Excellent service, great interior and fantastic location for first time travellers to Amsterdam (I’m a regular). The hotel is so much nicer since its refurbishment, high standard interiors and lovely bar. Quality finish and well presented staff, solo or family travellers would feel safe in the hotel. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, noting was too much trouble. Hotel has a bar, resurgent and cafe (next door in between Art’Otel). Hotel also has a decent sized sauna, swimming pool and half decent gym. Running machines, cable machines for chest, back and two benches, math assist machine with limited free weights but no barbell. The rooms are spacious and modern, hairdryer, coffee pod machine, kettle, mini bar, iron, ironing board are all included. As are shampoo, conditioner and body cream. It is an old large building so the layout may confuse some people but once you find your way it’s fine and staff are always happy to help. We only had one issue during our stay which was with breakfast but this was resolved without fuss and to our satisfaction, these things do happen. The concierge will help with luggage or store bags for you if you have a late flight for example. Hotel is directly in front of Amsterdam Centraal, dam square is a 4-5min walk, Rembrandt square is a 10-15 min walk or jump on the tram, trams are across the road to take you anywhere in the city. You can literally walk to all the main sites including Rijksmuseum within 25-30 min walk. The red light district is only a 6-8 min walk. We will definitely be back during one of our frequent trips to the NL. My only small gripe was with Vics bar, some tables are supposed to be reserved for hotel guests, but every night these were used by non hotel guests, if they are reserved please enforce this and check with customers that they are staying at the hotel or just don’t have reserved tables. Bar staff are excellent given how busy it can be on some evenings You will not be disappointed staying at the Park Plaza

Room Tip: It’s a large odd shaped building so rooms are across levels. Ask for rooms away from storage...

Very centrally located, nice pool for the kids, large rooms for a city hotel. Special thanks to Concierge David, who was always very kind and helpful and charming very much above the usual service level. Gave us great tips for our short city trip as a family.

Stayed for the weekend with my partner and had an amazing time 🤍 the pool and sauna were amazing and were open until 10pm so it was nice to be able to have a late night swim. The hotel is the perfect location and so central to everything. Definitely one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in.

Stayed for two nights between Christmas and new year. The hotel is in a great position, right opposite the main railway station and as we arrived by Eurostar it was great. The rooms were large and had everything we needed. Hotel is right in the centre of the city so most things are walkable and the tram stops are opposite the hotel as well. Breakfast was expensive, but next door is a cafe serving coffee and croissants etc.

Our first time in Amsterdam as a family and we could not have chosen a better hotel to stay in. We had two Superior rooms booked and even though we arrived early Priya at check in was more than helpful in upgrading one room and checking us in early. The rooms are a good size and modern in appearance. The walk in shower is great. The hotel itself is ideally located just across from The Central Station and allows easy access to all the main sites within Amsterdam (We walked to the Rijkmueseum in about 25 minutes). We did not have breakfast at the hotel but were able to use Vics Bar to unwind after a long day walking. The staff were friendly and helpful. A truly great hotel to stay at if visiting Amsterdam.. Very highly recommended
