This is a really good hotel with great central location a short walk from Central Station. Its not cheap but includes a good breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Recommended..!
The location of this hotel is second to none, down a quiet street but a minute away from Dam Square and the shopping street. Bars and restaurants literally next door. Super friendly staff, good breakfast and newly refurbished room, all adds up to a great stay.
Terrible attitude of the staff very unhelpful and demeaning. We arrived to Amsterdam yesterday evening around 6pm both me and my partner had taken a PCR test on the day of travelling. We showed our PCR to the hotel whom said it was fine there was no mention of a QR code being needed for breakfast. This morning we have arrived at the breakfast hall to have a cold pastry breakfast and we was rudely approached by the kitchen Porter asking for a QR code or we must return to eat at my room. The rules in Amsterdam are that everyone must have a pcr test every 24 hours on their CoronaCheck application. As tourist we have not yet been in the country for 24 hours and have a valid pcr with us which can suffice until we take a test this afternoon. I then went on to make a complaint to the reception staff whom was just even more rude and disrespectful advising me that the breakfast is free in the room rate. I have paid 111€ for one night and CHOSE THE OPTION OF ADDING BREAKFAST so nothing is free especially when payment is required at arrival. The staff did not once apologise for their mistake or their attitude toward paying customers. There is a very blaze attitude and no care towards their clients. I am very disappointed with this hotel in the end especially as when we arrive the staff we was greeted by were extremely nice and friendly. I will be taking my complaint further and ensuring none of my family friends or business associates use this company or hotel again.…
Best Western Dam Square Inn is located in a small and quiet street in the very city center, one minute walk from Dam Square. The hotel building dates from the 17th century and it originally hosted a distillery. I had a very good room, that was big for Amsterdam standards. The bed was very comfortable, and there was no noise from outside, also due to the fact that my widows were on a small private street. Also the bathroom was very good. There was no buffet breakfat when I visited, due to anti-covid measures, but they povided a standard platter with cheese, ham, tomatoes, cucumbers, egg, bread, toast, croissant, jam, butter, orange juice and coffee/tea/chocolate. So, breakfast was still quite enjoyable. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Highly recommend the Best Western Dam Square Inn for solo travellers. Unlike most European hotel single bedrooms I got a lovely big sized bed, which I was pleased with! The friendly lady on reception also let me check in 3 hours early. The location is central and a few minutes from Dam Square. My room was at the back of the hotel which is why it was pretty quiet. I will definitely return ☺️
