Really enjoyed our 4 nights here. Lovely clean spacious room, even though the hotel is on a main road there wasn't any issues with noise. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice, staff friendly and helpful. Great location in the centre and within walking distance of all the sights. Also a thank you to the hotel for making my wife's birthday just a little bit more special.
Stayed here a lot of times - it is an old newspaper building converted into a Sofitel. The rooms are brilliant with Amsterdam street map wallpaper that is hand written. The quality of the rooms is very high if a bit small, but you are right in the centre. The bar area doubles as the restaurant and breakfast. Food is great - its child friendly and also good for business. I stay here for both.
A great hotel, centrally located; Great friendly and helpful staff, going above and beyond to help you… I travel a lot on business, so I’ve seen and been to hotels. They are like a family, and they make sure you know you’re welcome to their ‘home’. We came as a family booking 2 rooms. One room for my daughter’s family, with a baby, and the second for ourselves. My wife’s sick (cancer) and she’s using a wheelchair, so we needed more help. Paul and the staff made every effort to make us feel comfortable, and satisfied. Breakfast was very good, and so was the service. Both rooms were nicely decorated and clean. The building has a long history, and it was reflected in the interesting and educational decorations. Will definitely come back. I already sent my friends there on their coming visit to Amsterdam, in August.…
Considering how great the style, service, cleanliness, location and rooms are... if your sleep quality is not great then it's just not a great hotel right? The air conditioning in the room did not work. I asked about it 3 times and was provided a small desk fan. I am a platinum Accor member and spent EUR380 using 18,000 points. Come to think of it now... it was not worth it. Super disappointed
Hotel was ok. Friendly staff. Expensive given it’s clear need for some updating. Stained carpets in lobby and stale smell. Stains on bed cushions and fabric chair in room. Room was dusty and needed a good deep clean as did some other parts of the hotel.
Lovely rooms clean air con works good. Shower and separate toilet. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was not included in our deal and was €26 each but there was a good choice and as much as you want. Reception very helpful and always polite. Only downside was fridge in the room is not a fridge and barely gets cold. 😐
We stayed for 3 nights. A small room but a clean one which had everything we needed, including a coffee machine with capsules. The breakfast was quite good, but the waiting was too long. The receptionists and waitresses were very kind and gave us a very good service.
This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff but we realised when we got home not very efficient. When we got our bill there was a 80 euros bottle of champagne put on our bill which wasn't ours. Then 2 days later we spoke to our credit card company who said they also charged us another £260 and £380 which was a block on the card and it was charged. This also was not us and we really are appalled at how the hotel can put all these charges which are not ours on our card with no permission or authority. If you stay here be very careful
We spent 4 nights in the Deluxe Suite in early May. We loved the theming of the hotel. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was really good. I especially loved the hot chocolate and the freshly squeezed juices.
What a brilliant hotel and destination! Funky decor, young staff and a whole lot of style. An easy walk from Amsterdam Centraal train station. We stayed in the superior room with a glass partitioned shower and toilet and comfortable king size bed. Amazing artwork/map of Amsterdam on your bedroom wall (and all about the hotel itself). Superior rooms come with dressing gowns and slippers plus a Nespresso machine and water in the little drawer style fridge. There’s a hairdryer in the bottom of the wardrobe but I didn’t notice an iron/ironing board and as I didn’t need one it would be worth asking reception. The breakfast is the breakfast of kings - home made granola of every flavour, continental cheeses and meats, yoghurts, Full English and loads more. Lunch and dinner menu is lean but well balanced and the coffee from the bar is the best. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and gladly stay here again on a next visit.…
