We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I had requested twin rooms for all the party months in advance which wasn't granted but not a huge problem. As it was a group of ladies away together we didn't want to stay in the hotel too much and had to keep our costs reasonable. We didn't eat there as we...

A luxury haven of peace & quiet in Amsterdam. The Hotel Okura Amsterdam has large & well appointed rooms, a superb breakfast & several excellent dining & bar choices - very handy after a busy day. The hotel is out of the city centre but is only a 40 minute walk away & a tram passes outside that takes you...

Pros: Clean, beautiful, coolest bathrooms ever and a very helpful staff. Con: a bit of a hike from the city center (about 35 - 40 min walk or a 10 min walk to a 15 min tram ride). The pros definitely outweigh the cons on this one, since it's not that far and you're spared the city / pedestrian noise....

This is perhaps not an obvious choice for the non-Japanese traveller - there are plenty of good Amsterdam hotels more centrally located - but the Okura has become our favourite place to stay in the city. Elegant decor, first-rate friendly service, large rooms (this time ours, on the 7th floor, was facing the gracht behind the building and offering a...

We spent the weekend at hotel okura and the hotel itself doesn't feel like a city hotel with a beautiful exterior and reception is also very nice. We stayed in an executive junior suite the room was generous in size with a separate dressing room. The decor was a bit old fashioned and the rooms and more importantly the bathrooms...

Found this hotel on a special deal. Not the cheapest in Amsterdam, but, well worth staying at if you like comfort and exceptional service. Easy to find, plenty of parking, restaurants great and not far from centre of city.

Beautiful Hotel. 1st class service from everyone. World class restaurants. Beautiful rooms with views. But when a 5***** hotel charging 5***** prices charges 12 Euros per day for a decent internet (Their standard free internet was as fast as a 20 year old dialup), and the pool "amenity" costs 15 Euros per day (I pay $40 per month to use...

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
