I always judge hotels on four things, Location, Cleanliness, Service and Breakfast !......Location is great for all of the central Amsterdam attractions, Rooms and Public areas were all very clean and well kept, Service was good at check in, Concierge etc so no issues generally with the hotel and we would return again. Now let me get to breakfast.....a huge...

In August of 2016 I booked a trip to Europe for 2 weeks in September of 2016. As a Marriot Rewards Member, I used the reward points I earned while traveling for work throughout the year to book a Renaissance hotel room in Amsterdam, Netherlands. I did not have the exact amount of reward points needed to book the room...

We stayed for a few days while exploring. Good location, close to the train station and shopping. Check in and check out was easy, and everyone was friendly. Food in the club suite and breakfast was good, although clean up was always completed a few minutes before the end of the time availability. The room was big, but definitely could...

The hotel itself was very nice but in my opinion not worthy of a 5 star rating. We waited approximately 25 minutes to check in, I wouldn't mind but there were several staff standing around chatting. It only takes a second to acknowledge guests and to apologise for the wait. There was a mini bar in the room but with...

I stayed just one short night on my way back home. I spoke with the front desk team in advance about my preferences and they were able to assign me the nearly perfect room! The rooms are quite large (by Euro standards) and well appointed. The bed was comfy and the bathroom well equipped. The club lounge was great and...

Very good location, in the heart of Amsterdam, walk less than 10 minutes to Dam Square as well as the train station. Very helpful and efficient reception. Clean room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Note for concierge service, I expect to get a document from Paris, usually I will get it when I check in, but here you have to ask...

Came here for a 4 days work/holiday. Was fantastic. Excellent location literally on city centre. Came here a while back but still remember it. Great service and very clean. Curtious customer service and cafes, restaurants and sites all walking distance. Arabian food place forgot the name literally 2 min walk is amazing. Try and remember the roads as it does...

Due to some travel issues, my wife and I had to cancel a leg of our trip and arrived in Amsterdam three days early. Due to National Remembrance Day, many hotels were booked, but we were able to reserve a room here on points. We are so happy we did. The location is ideal for exploring, close to central station...

We stayed in this hotel in February as a stag group and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. With great downstairs lobby space and sofas and mini games like Chess and Ludo to play with while you wait. The rooms are modern and spacious although the hotel is seamlessly split over to parts. One seems to be...

A special city break to celebrate my mum's birthday turned into a series of unfortunate events. 1. Two weeks in advance I emailed to ask for a surprise gift to be left in my room for my mum's birthday. Rennaisance wrote back and confirmed this would be done. Imagine the look on my face when my mum comes into the...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
