InApril my wife and I spent five days in Amsterdam and used Mariott points to stay at the Renaissance. We had a fantastic trip and the hotel was a large part of it. The location of the hotel is great for just about any walking trip you want to take. I need to provide my highest compliments to Lourens and Ismail at the concierge desk. They were fantastic and helped us with restuarants, canal crusie reservations and on any questions we had. They really made the trip memorable.

Nice hotel that had some nice perks like a little free happy hour in a lounge every afternoon. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I was quite disappointed in the maid service, or lack of. I didn’t care about the bed being made but I did want the towels that were on the floor to be removed and the trash to be emptied. I ended up doing it myself when I saw a cart in the hall.

Dear Patty R, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us. Your experience is below our standard. We are happy to read that you enjoyed the Club Lounge facility as a part of your room benefits and that the quality of the rooms were enjoyable. However, we regret to read that your room was not cleaned in a proper manner. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. I have shared your feedback with the Housekeeping team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and reviewed to prevent these issues from occurring in the future. I hope you choose to stay with us again when your travels bring you back to the area. Sincerely, Front Office Team

Location is triple A. Staff was a bit stiff, too stiff to my taste. Rooms a bit American (low ceilings, bathroom shower: good bed and pillows though). The barfood was really nice and not too expensive . Breakfast was messy and not impressive at all. Price was too high for what was on offer but it seems there was a RAI conference in town….

My wife and I have stayed at this Renaissance many, many times over the past 25 years, but this time was different. We actually stayed twice: 11 nights during March, 2022 and 6 more nights in May. It was extremely obvious during both stays that this hotel, like many service, hospitality, and retail establishments around the world is having a very difficult time filling many lower wage positions. The staff, from housekeeping to kitchen staff to front desk and club lounge personnel, were all pleasant and professional, but many were simply overwhelmed with too much work given the limited employees. In addition to the staffing issues, the rooms have become somewhat "used". In both rooms, bathtub drainage was an issue and both rooms had minor issues with paint peeling, wall or ceiling bubbles, etc. Given the price of a room here, one should receive more. Again, the staff were trying their best. My complaints above reflect on hotel and especially corporate management. Perhaps the Board of Directors and executive management don't deserve millions of stock options this year; maybe use that to hire more housekeepers, waitstaff, and maintenance personnel!

Dear jhcrystopher, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us. Your experience of everything mentioned is below our standard. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. I have shared your feedback with the hotel leadership team to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and reviewed to prevent such service from occurring in the future. All of our staff is trying reply hard to provide the best of quality service after this difficult period of Covid, the whole industry is struggling and as new people are coming to our team, in all departments, it requires for time to be trained properly. I hope you choose to stay with us again when your travels bring you back to the area. Sincerely, Front of House team
