Very convenient location! Easy to get walk to almost all locations in the Canal Ring (Anne Frank, Van Gogh, Red Light, Amsterdam Centraal, etc.) Courteous and friendly staff; easy check-in and check-out. Nice size rooms, clean and nicely appointed. AC worked great, kept us cool, even on 85F/29C day. We specifically looked for hotels with AC (not all have it). Earlier reviews suggested it didn't work well, but more recent reviews indicated otherwise. It definitely worked well for us. The hotel itself, hallways, stairwells, etc. are not as modern as other hotels, but it was quaint and charming. The rooms themselves were nicely appointed and had more character than newer chain hotels. It was the right balance of character, cleanliness, and amenities - not shabby and broken down, not sterile and standard. Choosing a room location could make a big difference. We wanted to look out on the Rembrandt Square, but a room was not available our first night. We had the opportunity to experience a room on the backside/quieter side of the hotel and the front side. Rembrandt Square will stay busy and noisy very late. If you prefer a quieter room, stay on the backside. It is very quiet. We preferred to stay on the front side and enjoyed our 6th floor room and view better. It was noisier, but felt like it faded into the background and didn't notice it as much.- For reference, traveling in our party (in two rooms on the 6th floor), were 3 who are 50+ years old and a 27 & 19 year-old. We all enjoyed it!

Hands down the best hotel with the best location in Amsterdam! Right smack in the middle of Rembrandt Plaza with everything within a few minutes walking distance. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly and professional, They have A/C and Smokey’s coffee shop and club is right next door. Only place I’ll stay in Amsterdam if possible!

Please add a few drawers and towel hangers/hooks and the room would be much better! It also would have been helpful to know that Uber is not allowed to pick up in front of the hotel or in Rembrandt Square. We figured this out the hard way after several of them canceled on us.

We have been to Amsterdam several times but wanted to share this experience with my sister and brother-in-law. We saw where Eric Clapton was kicking off his European tour at the Ziggo Arena outside of Amsterdam and thought this is perfect! We started in London for two days then popped over to Amsterdam for two days of partying and the concert.the Schilling is a grand old hotel in Rembrandt Plaza. We took the train into town then two more stops to the Schilling. Could not have been easier. Lots of restaurants, bars and coffee houses within easy walking. We had already seen the other sites such as Anna Franks house, Van Gogh Mus. And Reichs Mus. Which are also close by so we skipped them this time. The concert was fantastic and was so easy to get to and from by train which we caught just in front to the Schiller. There’s is so much more to Amsterdam than coffee shops and the red light district and the Dutch know how to do it right.

NH Schiller is a nice hotel that combines romantic art deco architecture in the lobby and restaurant with top modern hotel rooms, refurbished in 2020. The location is perfect with the lively Rembrandt Square and plenty of restaurants just outside the main entrance. All major attractions are within 20 minutes walking or 2-3 tram stops away. We visited both the Rijksmuseum area, the Dam square with the Palace and Ripleys, Anne Frank's House, ARTIS Zoo and the attractions around the Central Station on foot. The kids loved the hotel and with rooms on the third floor we did not hear any noise from the square despite the buzzling party atmosphere Friday and Saturday night.

This hotel is in a great location to explore the city. There’s many restaurants right outside the front door. It’s also right opposite a tram stop. It’s about 30/ 40 mins from the airport. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We were only on room only so didn’t eat in the hotel. The actual room was functional and comfortable for a three night city break. There is tea and coffee facilities, a fridge, a safe, small wardrobe, the room we had, the bathroom only had a shower. The room was cleaned daily. The only negative was due to its location, when the bars closed, there was some noise outside which was quite loud and 2am. Our room was on the front though. Would recommend if you’re not wanting anything luxurious but a place to stay at night.

This hotel is very well situated in front of tram station and at 3 stops from main station. The area is pleasant and full of bars and restaurants. The staff of the hotel is very nice and helpful. The hotel is quiet althoug I recommend a quiet room to avoid noise from outside. We had a superior room (411) facing back of the hotel and we did not hear anything (there was national day outside with many people laughing, drinking, etc). The curtain was perfectly dark so no light could awake us. Moreover the conditioned air was working even with open window which is great. The only thing could be a little more care in doing rooms. The bed was made of course but the sheets were not so well stretched, it did not give an impression of bed well done. The dust was not really cleaned, the same dust remained on the floor the whole week. I suppose there is a problem of lack of time for the staff than a lack of cleanliness. Nevertheless, I would recommend the hotel.

The beds were comfortable and the staff were helpful. The rooms work, but they are not large! However, no hotel in Amsterdam will waste space! The location is excellent. We will be back. Just avoid the breakfast service! (There are excellent breakfast places nearby!) Tram stop for routes 4 and 14 in front of the hotel, so straight to and from Centraal Station with no trouble whatsoever!

The hotel is in good location, the room is reasobable, toilet area too nerrow and perhaps a baby can sit without his shoulders squeeze and the toilet paper holder wont make a hole in his knee , bed arrangement is bad, price too high for what you get.

A good hotel in a good central location on Rembrandt Square. We had an junior suite which was spacious well decorated an afresh bathroom with bath and shower. The hotel breakfast was good but was the same every day though in fairness there were a good selection of choices. There is a pleasant Art Deco bar and Schiller cafe next door. All the staff were professional and friendly. The only possible. Issue that the rooms at the front of the hotel may be effected by noise from the street in the small hours are there are some clubs and bars nearby, I slept through it but my wife and two friends staying in another room were aware of some noise at night. A definite plus is that the trams stop opposite the hotel. If arriving from Central station it is. Tram 4 and get off at Rembrandt Square takes about 10 minutes. Tip If you turn left as you exit the hotel and take the first left half way down the street is an really excellent Italian restaurant.
