Located in the heart of the city, Hotel Estherea is housed in a row of historic buildings on the major canal. Behind the 17th century façade, guests find a warm welcome in comfortable surroundings. With its woolen carpets, crystal chandeliers and sumptuous furniture, the hotel is an oasis of tranquility in the middle of the bustling city. The Estherea first opened its doors in the 1940s. this family business is currently run by the third generation. Amazing hotel! The decor was gorgeous- maximalism done right. They have all the right little touches- nice coffee & little snacks for guests, a good bar with friendly bartenders and solid food just in case you don’t feel like going out. And two cats that live on site! The location was perfect for us as we liked walking to restaurants and bars nearby. Getting an Uber or taking public transportation to other parts of town wasn’t difficult or expensive. Our room was a good size. They pushed 2 twin beds together to make a king and we were quite comfortable. I have already told several friends about this place and know that it’s the only place I’ll stay if I find myself back in Amsterdam.

Amazing hotel with fantadtic decoration, great location, very clean rooms, polite personel and bar with free coffee and biscusits all day. Unfortunately we paid alsomost 300 euros per night without breakfast. and breakfast itself costs almost 20 euros per night. With that price in other countries you stay in a 6 star hotel. I dont know what is happening lately with central European countries but hotel prices have gone really out of hand.

This is easily the best and most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. The main priority for us was location as we had a very busy few days planned exploring Amsterdam. It’s great that you can have location and luxury at this hotel. It was a short taxi journey from Schipol airport and upon arrival we were greeted with some of the most lavish decor that exuded luxury. We booked via last minute.com and unfortunately they didn’t hate our booking listed, luckily when we gave our booking number they managed to find us on the system. A note to all those booking via third parties. We were given two free drink tokens for this issue, which allowed us any drink of our choice in the bar. We received an upgrade to a deluxe room and it was wonderful, a large bed, wonderful bathroom complete with two sinks and a bath with overhead shower. All of the complimentary toiletries were l'occitane and fabulous. Breakfast was lovely, there was a great selection of food for everyone - we particularly loved the pastries. Throughout the day there was complimentary pastries, hot and cold drinks, and sweets for you to help yourself too. The atmosphere in the bar in the evening was great, a wonderful selection of sensational cocktails and yummy bar food. The staff were super helpful in booking our return taxi to the airport, and the availability of rain ponchos and umbrellas made dealing with the November rain super easy. Thank you to all the lovely staff who always went over and above for making this the most enjoyable stay, we’ve already recommended the hotel to everyone we know and can’t wait to come back soon.

Lovely 3 nights with friends and teenage children. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the bar is lovely especially in the evening and we thought the bitterballen were some of the best we tasted. The rooms are fun and beds very comfortable. Hotel staff arranged for their driver to collect a vintage statue I purchased from outside Amsterdam and the service was great. This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed here and will def be back. Thank you, Natasha

Beautiful hotel, perfect location don’t hesitate booking this hotel. We chose this hotel based on the positive TripAdvisor reviews, I travelled with my daughter and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. There are cheaper hotels but it was important for us to get the right location and comfort after spending a very busy 2 nights exploring Amsterdam. Our room was larger than expected, bathroom with beautiful amenities a delight! 2 sinks and a bath with over head shower. Plenty of wardrobe space, we emailed prior to arrival asking for twin beds and were accommodated. Breakfast is expensive and you must pre book on arrival which we did, the lady checking us in was training and misinformed us on our time slot so please double check! They did accommodate us but we had to sit in the lobby area. The hotel offers complimentary tea coffee and pastries which is very welcomed any time of day. The decor is very out there but works…..staff helpful. When visiting Amsterdam again we will definitely stay here again.

We were enjoying our stay anyway but when our flight home was cancelled at the last minute, the staff on Reception did everything in their power to arrange a room for the three of us that night. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was great - loved the decor and the Occitane toiletries. Free coffee in Reception all day with pastries in the afternoon. And two adorable cats that would occasionally grace Reception with their presence. We felt truly looked after in these opulent but informal surroundings. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay so much at this hotel - we extended it for two more days! The lobby is straight out of Alice in Wonderland - so whimsical and fun, and different rooms to explore! The snack table, with the coffee machine and make your own teabag station is also fantastic! Must give recognition to Priscilla and Anissa and Iris - who went above and beyond for us, during our stay. The rooms are clean and spacious - and also very quiet! We were on the top floor and didn't hear much from other rooms or the outside. I can't really say anything bad about the hotel, except that we had to leave!! I want to come back to Amsterdam soon, just to stay at the Hotel Estherea again. Oh - and the location is great, too! Right near the main part of the city, and very close to multiple tram stops. Thank you again for everything!!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in this fantastic hotel. Everything about it is perfect - the location is central, the rooms are great - very comfy bed and the staff very friendly. The coffee and cake is a lovely touch - the cakes are delicious. A perfect place to stay to tour Amsterdam.

Where to begin…everything was fantastic! The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful, friendly and kind. The atmosphere and the rooms were well decorated and very clean. And we couldn’t have asked for a better breakfast, both the food and the wait staff were great!

We stayed a few nights at Hotel Estherea and it was great. The property is beautiful. The rooms are small, but very well appointed, Everything about it denotes quality. The breakfasts in the morning were excellent. Every Estherea staff member gave us the impression they really enjoyed working with the hotel, and were here to serve us. After a long and tiring day, we ended up in the lounge for a quick drink and appetizer. We ordered the chicken wings. For whatever reason, they were all cooked well except for one, which was red and bloody inside. Of course, chicken should not be served this way. When we mentioned it to our waitress, she was insistent that if it had been cooked any more, it would be tough. She wasn't going to change her mind, and we were in no mood to argue, so we just left the uncooked chicken wing alone. So, just one small service issue, however, nothing that would prevent us from booking another stay at Hotel Estherea
