Quiet setting not too far from the old town section of Amsterdam. Choose this location with confidence for business and or relaxation. Very restful and pleasant. You can walk our taxi to the hustle and bustle, but here you can relax and enjoy.
We stayed with 2 children in connecting rooms. Check in was easy and friendly. The atmosphere in the hotel is one of calm and luxury. There is an feeling of grandeur because of the nice finishing of the rooms and halls/lobby. The rooms are quiet but hot. The windows don’t open….and the airco has a lot of work to cool the rooms. We loved the room with it’s nice details, carpets and fantastic bathroom/shower. The view even at street side is nice. Breakfast was very good, lot’s of choices, friendly staff and good products. We had dinner at Roberto s which was delicious. We were a bit disappointed that the coffee bar did not open during our stay. The terras bar is wonderful. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we’re especially charmed by the staff. Always interested and ready to help with some personal tips and stories. They we’re great! We hope to come back.…
I think if you're staying here for a conference or as a muster point for a cruise or tour, it's completely fine. The rooms are nice & clean & updated. The staff was very nice & helpful. Due to flight cancellations, we had to book at the last minute and selected this hotel based on the reputation of the Hilton brand. Of our month-long journey, this was our least favorite hotel stay. There were just little issues everywhere-- our fridge was broken so we couldn't cool beverages. They sent in maintenance who couldn't fix the issue and made no offer to move rooms or any sort of compensation. Then, at check out I had a whole hassle w/ explaining the issue to them so I wasn't charged for the entire minibar since the maintenance person knocked it over while trying to fix it. The breakfast situation was a little odd. We booked two rooms of 2 people but we are family of 4 (two adults & two kids) travelling together. Each morning, it was seemingly a huge task for them to seat us next to each other. Obviously, we like to sit together and plan our day. It was just very odd to have to explain our preference that we not be separated, even though we have two rooms, each morning. Be aware that this place is about a 20 minute tram ride from the downtown core. This area is pretty quiet & residential. That may be a pro or con in your view but something to be aware of. We liked the fact that it was quiet but felt it was a little further out than we would have preferred. Getting to the airport is easy. We walked to Amsterdam Zuid train station and paid $4 eu for a ticket on the regional train (runs every few minutes) one stop. In the future, I'd look for a boutique-style hotel a little closer in. Definitely felt like we paid a 5 star price for less than 5 star accomodations.…
We had a lovely stay at The Hilton Amsterdam. Having previously stayed in small boutique hotel’s in the city in the past, it was definitely refreshing to have such spacious rooms, with stunning views of the canal. It was our first time doing connecting rooms with our 9 year old daughter and it really made for a comfortable experience. I’ve written a separate review of Roberto’s, one of the hotels restaurants, which I was less than impressed with. But the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the internet was flawless and the Crabtree and Evelyn products in the bathroom were delightful. Within walking distance is a gorgeous neighborhood with restaurants, boutiques and the Vondel Park. I would definitely stay here again.
Great 1 month stay due to great staff: Matteo and Linda and the others were so professional kind helpful!! I wish i could take them home! Any request was ok for them. They did everything with a smile thanks so much. They work in the breakfast room and my family had many special requests. They love to make guests happy
Everything about the Amsterdam Hilton is fantastic, from the concierge, reception staff, really clean rooms and amazing breakfast. It’s in a great quiet location, close to the museums. I will always stay here in future, it’s fabulous. My only disappointments I had were I had to ask every day for our room to be cleaned/made up. Everyday when we returned to the room between 3 and 4 pm the room was not done, on the last day of our stay the room wasn’t cleaned at all despite me asking. We have stayed here many times and will always come back.
Good location near museums and parks. Great views from the canal-side rooms. The excellent front desk staff are friendly and forthcoming with information (especially Helena and Alan). The housekeeping staff were also friendly and very efficient - they popped in to tidy my room while I was downstairs for half an hour having breakfast. Good views from the (enclosed) executive lounge, which is perched on top of the roof. Breakfast was plentiful and varied - some of the hot items changed day by day.
Our family of five had a very nice stay here. It was just a 5 minute walk to catch the tram for a short ride into downtown Amsterdam - maybe 10 minutes? It was also very easy to walk to Vondel Park and the Museum area. The neighborhood was very nice for dinner, too. The rooms were good sized and properly appointed. The staff accommodating and a very good quality of breakfast. We also enjoyed the bar and outdoor evening seating near the canal. A very nice stay.
The hotel is a little further out meaning you get to enjoy the tranquillity of the location, sitting outside by the canal on a warm evening. Some fantastic restaurants close by (Brasserie Van Dam, Sardegna and Bruno's Cucina). It is a short and pleasant walk or cycle ride to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum and a little further to some other attractions but lots to stop and do on the way. The hotel is large, spacious and clean and the service was great. We would stay here again.
Given this was my 4th or 5th stay in the same hotel, i am generally satisfied with the service, location, cleanliness, responses to details and the Guests needs. I will definitely return again and recommend the hotel! Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement .... as a few times during my recent stay, the request to change the bed linen has been ignored/ maybe forgotten.
