We booked Hotel No 76 again and had another enjoyable stay.Staff again very pleasant and helpful. Room was in basement but was clean and well appointed.Used the public transport system this time and hotel is convenient for Tram 2 into town. It's also a short walk to Leidseplein and more restaurants than you can 'shake a stick at'.We,though, prefer to go in... Perfect stay in a quiet area in Amsterdam. Our hotel impressed with the design and the rooms were large and comfortable and the bed with anatomic mattress, in our bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub and also shower. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. Everything was near to us.

My partner and I visit Amsterdam often, and because of the weather conditions in January, I wanted to stay near the museums I planned to visit. The location (near museums, shopping, and lots of restaurant choices) is excellent, but the service while friendly, was lacking. What I loved? 1. The location: I was completely unaffected by the cold and rain,... More

Stayed here with my daughter last year and couldn't fault this hotel. It's in the Museum Quarter so ideally situated for the Van Gogh, Stedelijk and Rijksmuseum‎, there is also a canal boat stop nearby if you fancy doing a canal trip. The bus stop for the airport was also very close which was useful. The honesty bar is a great... More

If you are a museum buff, you can't beat the location; just one block from the Stedelijk Museum and van Gogh museum, two blocks from Rijksmuseum. The room was quite nice, though on the small side. We had a room with a whirlpool bathtub, had some difficulty in stopping the water from leaking away from the tub. No big issue... More

We chose this hotel as it was in the Museum area, and we wanted to concentrate on the museums this time. It is only 2 min walk from either the Stedelijk or the van Gogh, which was convenient as it was raining most of the time. It´s a boutique hotel, with a lobby that also includes a few tables where... Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
