Had a nice weekend in the JL 76. Very helpful and polite staff, nice rooms and a good location for the museums. It is about a 20-30 minute walk to central Amsterdam. My only negative would be that the standard rooms are next to the elevator and can be a bit noisy. We always travel with ear plugs, so it...

Our family had 3 rooms here for 3 nights and we all had a great experience. Pros: great location in museum area, quiet, comfy beds and pillows, clean, nice bathroom, and great breakfast and honor system for drinks and snacks. We enjoyed four nights in January. The location was perfect, as we were mainly focused on the museums. The room was large, very comfortable, and quiet. En suite Nespresso was very much appreciated. Check in was swift and informative, with assistance provided in making reservations for a canal boat tour of the Festival of Lights. We were able to arrange...

You have to experience this unique boutique hotel! Their hospitality should be the standard for all hotels. Great location and staff is outstanding. Friendly, warm and inviting are only a few words that describe this hotel. Plus the room was excellent. Great location and we will definitely stay there on our next visit. Close to all the museums and Leidseplein.

The room was excellent, stuff was very nice and friendly.Location right in the center of Museum Quater, so we have not used public transport at all. The cons are - at nights we heard a little bit of TV sound from adjacent room(though it wasn't really annoying), and on the checkout we were have to pay "Ciy Tax" -5 euros...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
