Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent 3 nights at Krisotel and we would definitely recommend it to other couples. The room was neat, the staff was well prepared and welcoming, besides the fact that the location of the hotel is ideal, we really enjoyed our stay.

This quaint hotel, while small, offered all the necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean and overall, my stay here was pleasant. This hotel is a short walk from many of Amsterdam’s main attractions.

We were in the Ground Level room(Basement) and it was TINY.. luggage was placed under the beds, two single beds of which they were in separate cubby holes, the bathroom was almost bigger then the rest of the room, and that's all. The stairway down was an experience in-and of it's self. It was clean, the beds were made up every day with clean towels, the staff was helpful and the location was close to most everything, if not, the tram was three minutes away on either direction.

Everything was very clean. Nice staff. Allowed us to leave our luggage. Free coffee. Fresh towels. Air conditioning. Negative: can not open window and water of the shower went everywhere in the bathroom.

Stayed here for a city break. The hotel is compact but stayed in a delude double, which afforded a little extra room. Staff were all very welcoming and were on hand for dining tips throughout our stay. The room itself was fine, with a modern bathroom and ample storage space. The room did seem to be uneven as the bed was a little higher on one side, which is common in Amsterdam - it didn't bother us too much. Free tea and coffee is a nice touch that we availed of throughout the trip before heading off for the day. There is also a vending machine with drinks and snacks in reception, which is handy. Location was the main selling point, around the corner from tram stops and 20mins walk to most of the main attractions in the city, the museum quarter, dam square, canal cruises, heineken brewery, food hallen etc etc. Central location means it is pricey but worth it for the convenience.

The hotel was very clean, in good repair and pleasant. Good bed. The bathroom - though small - had a great shower that was new, modern and clean with good water pressure. While staying at this hotel in Amsterdam, we had an accident on our way to a museum. This required making doctor and ultrasound appointments and ordering crutches. Lots of taxis orders to get around. The manager Feroz and Miranda (she made all the appointments and orders for us) went above and beyond to help us. Miranda was so instrumental in getting us into the ultrasound clinic days earlier than what they were proposing. This was immensely helpful in getting us resolve so we could get home. Feroz was so pleasant and did not make us feel like we were trouble. Without their help and Miranda just taking care of required contact for us, we would not have been able to manager. Took so much stress off us. We are grateful that we stayed at this hotel and feel lucky that we had such wonderful people to assist us. Good staff are a valuable asset to a hotel and this one is lucky to have two very valuable people. Also want to mention that the cleaning staff were also very pleasant and helpful to us. Thanks again to everyone. Paul and Diane MacLeod, Oakville, Canada

The hotel was just perfect for us! The bed and pillows were one of the comfiest we've ever slept in! The welcome chocolates were the cutest touch and the man at the front desk (apologies, i've forgotten his name) was the friendliest and most helpful person ever! He definitely deserves a lot of praise by management! (We stayed there 11th-13th Sept if that helps with identifying him). The hotel is located close to all the tourist sites. Most are within 20 min walking distance and anything beyond that isn't a problem as it's located very close to the major tram lines. The hotel is modern, we stayed in the deluxe double room which was just perfect for the two of us. We would definitely book this hotel again if we return!

Perfect location and great accommodations with a friendly staff. It seems like everything was within a 25 min walk but tram stops were also close by. Enjoyed the breakfast and appreciated the room layout (we selected the two twin bunks).

The hotel had bed bugs we came home with lots of rashes all over our bodies after a 3 nights stay. Which has been a very big problem for us.The towels were not clean and everything was dirty. And had a very disgusting smell.

We booked this hotel based on some favourable reviews but it was very disappointing! On arrival to the hotel the reception area was dirty and in desperate need of a vacuum. There appeared to be a relatively new elevator there and I will say the bathroom had been upgraded . However there was no housekeeping but we did ask for fresh towels and received them. The towels were worn and shabby and the overall feel was this was a hotel not well kept or clean. During our two night stay the person on reception our first night was rude and not helpful when asked about restaurants etc in the area. The cost of this hotel for us did not reflect the standard it should have been based on our other travels elsewhere .
