Great location, large, modern room and although there's no staff on prem they'll support you remotely. The only concern are the stairs because they're extemely steep, very narrow staircase (about 30" across) and the steps are only about 6 inches deep. If you've got heavy bags or are unable to carry things up a narrow staircase be careful. Ask for...

We flew in from Canada on an overnight flight, and arrived about an hour before check in, our room was ready and our lovely hostess, Maryam brought us right to our room. Yes, the steps are narrow and steep, but definitely not unsurmountable. We were thankful they were straight, rather than steep circular stairs which seem to be everywhere else....

We visited Amsterdam in September 2015 and had the most wonderful time. Am's Suites were in a lovely quiet area with gorgeous coffee shops and restaurants on its door step. The room was lovely and very spacious! The walk into the main town was approx 15 mins but we rented bikes for the 4 days we were there and this...

Me my husband and parents stayed at AMS suits in April 2016. The location is brilliant a 10 minute straight walk from Dam square. Lots of lovely little restaurants nearby in a really classy area. The rooms were very very spacious and modern with nice bed linen and tea/coffee making facilities. Slippers were also a nice touch. We had a...

We had a comfortable stay in AMS Suites. Many mention the stairs which are steep but not insurmountable and I have a weak foot following a broken ankle. The code system to enter the building and your room is very straight forward. The daily bottled water supply and biscuits welcome. This is more of an apartment but suited us really...

Booked this place for a special occasion, was very excited to stay here. Rearranged my flights to stay for 3 nights instead of the 5 I was hoping to visit for as the Ams suites were only available for 3 nights and we had our heart set on this place. A few days later we receive an email, not even...

Great location, a short walk to most attractions. Room was beautiful, great amenities and couldn't fault the size of the room. The stairs are quite steep so wouldn't recommend for elderly guests. The walls are quite thin and the street noise in the morning was a little loud. No reception area, made me feel slightly uneasy especially with other guests...

Wonderful Location. Fantastic Room. Brilliant Service. They organised flowers for my wife on valentine's day and also allowed us to use the room beyond our allocated departure time. Much appreciated. I would highly recommend all visitors to Amsterdam to stay at AMS suites.

Great place, not technically a hotel. More a series of apartments. Wonderful rooms, great bathroom and on a nice secure street that is close to the centre. There are some steep stairs and no elevator, but this is easy to get over. The bed is very comfortable.

I stayed here with my boyfriend last week for 3 nights. The hotel (well I would call it more an apartment, - no reception) was close by to the bus station that took you directly from and to the airport! The rooms were a great size, very modern and clean however the steps were ridiculously steep, we had cabin luggage...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
