Service - Perfectionist staff from the welcoming doorman, informative concierge, accommodating front desk "Go Bony", pleasant housekeeping "We Appreciate you Emily" and my in room dining experience was superb. Location - Close to the metro, restaurants, bars, and inner city just perfect. Room - The best Intercontinental room I've stayed from the decor, bed, bathroom and magnificent view. Overall, very...

Very professional staff, beautiful hotel, wonderful food. Location was great too. Close to many major attractions in the city. We spent a week there for Christmas with family. Would love to stay there again in the future.

Our stay was wonderful, just too short. The hotel is gorgeous, convenient (everything in Amsterdam is-- we were out of the main touristy area, but still walked everywhere) The room was gorgeous and the staff was helpful and the bar was a lot of fun. My only complaints were due to strange issues... we didn't receive turndown service, which is...

My husband and I stayed in the hotel during our trip to Amsterdam for a night. We were upgraded to a executive suite and I cannot express our delight at the standard of luxury the Amstel exudes. It starts from the moment you walk through its entrance and set eyes upon its opulent interiors. The weather was quite grim during...

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighbourhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
