Oh my goodness. This hotel is the best hotel I've been to yet!
We arrived in Amsterdam for our 3 night city break at 20:00 and headed from central station to the hotel. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who instantly offered to take our bags and loaded them onto a trolley as we were checking into our room. After checking in we were told that our bags would be brought up to the room.
The gentleman who brought them to our room asked if he could enter the room and also asked if it was ok to leave the bags in a certain area in the room (which we both thought was so lovely of him).
Each day we headed in and out of the hotel and were greeted which a hello and/or good day by members of staff.
Our room was incredible, complimentary water and clean towels/bed making every day. Even if we used an item from the bathroom e.g complimentary soap/shampoo they were replenished every day!
The only thing that we regret is that we did not take up the opportunity to dine in the hotel restaurant!
Although all of this may seem rather minimal this made a huge difference to our stay in Amsterdam and I think we know which hotel we'll be coming back to on our next visit with friends.

Me and my wife booked two nights in NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace.
During the check-in there are just the normal COVID-19 measures, just wear your mask and desinfect your hands. You will have a nice welcome of the Barbizon Palace employees.
We booked a Superior room on the 4th floor, with a nice view on the Central station of Amsterdam. You don't have any noise disturbance of the central station.
Beside the room we also booked breakfast. Barbizon Palace created a app, to open on your smartphone. You can choose what kind of breakfast you want, so you always have something nice to eat. After the reservation you need to choose a schedule, to pick-up the breakfast at the restaurant. During the lockdown, you need to eat on your room. But with all the modern rooms of Barbizon Palace, it will not be a punishment to do that!
It's also possible to order drinks, lunch or diner. Everything is possible, just use your app on your phone. If you don't have a smartphone, you also can call the reception out of your room.
We had a nice stay in the hotel and didn't mentiod all the measurements at all.

Found location and service at this NH Collection hotel to be excellent. Appreciated the quiet, inner room design. When our room experienced a plumbing issue on a Sunday (meaning no service personal on staff), management was quick to arrange a new room and check-in to make sure everything was to our standard. I've stayed at other NH hotels across Europe but this hotel cannot compare to the others. It was a disappointment. The location is really nice and that is why we decided to book this hotel. On check in and check out, the front desk staff (Anthea) was really terrible at her job. We had booked 3 rooms and it took AGES to get us checked in and out. All 3 rooms were of different lay outs which was cool but 2 of the rooms didn't have a single mirror in the room which was a bit strange. Water was never replenished in the rooms and one room had a used teabag at the bottom of the kettle and a cigarette butt on the windowsill when we checked in.
The hotel had gotten us a car to take us to the airport on check out and the concierge staff had put all our luggage in the car and then came to call us. We had 13 bags in total and on arrival at the airport, we only had 12 bags. Had to call the hotel to check for the one bag they had left out but they didn't really seem bothered so my husband and I had to take another cab back to the hotel to check for ourselves. We found the bag in their store room and NONE of the staff seemed bothered in the least. Anthea and all the guys from concierge were really unphased by the situation. We spent 100 Euros extra on the trip from the airport to hotel and back to collect the bag they had left behind. It's a pity that the staff are not competent as th hotel itself is really nice and location is perfect!

There are a lot of great hotels around Amsterdam
But there are few hotels that give you the extraordinary guest experience.
In every five stars hotel (shiny and fancy) things can go wrong.
The big difference is located in the people beyond - the hotel employees.
They can give you extraordinary feelings on your stay, they can be a great value against the other hotels and a really huge advantage.
Hotel NH Collection Amsterdam Barbizon Palace is a hotel like that - and Ms.Judith D is exactly the hotel employee that you want to meet.
I have stayed in this hotel twice.
In the first time, we (me and my wife) took an upgraded room in this hotel.
There were a few problems with the room that, unfortunately, didn't get solved in our stay.
Ms.Judith contacted me via email and let me know that she really sorry and convinced me to return to another vacation in the hotel.
Judith was really nice and listen to all my needs and solved everything very quickly!
She was a real pro, she let me know and let me feels how important the client am I for the hotel.
When we arrived back, Judith welcome us and take us to our room.
She gave us a VIP welcome and gave us a wonderful room with all the things inside that let us feel comfortable.
The stay was absolutely great!
Judith goal was to gave us the extraordinary vacation in the hotel - and she definitely succeeded
the best experience that we've got from any hotel.
She really an asset to this hotel.
I defiantly HIGH recommend this hotel and for sure, we'll be back!

Really great location, five minutes walk from Amsterdam Centraal train station so very easy to get to from the airport. Tram stops nearby and a boat dock for sightseeing tours across the road. Loads of shops and restaurants nearby.
The hotel itself is very clean. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Toiletries, robes and slippers are provided, mini bar, coffee machine, kettle, plenty of plug sockets including usb and UK plug.
The bar was nice with a good choice of drinks and lovely staff.
Check in was quick and easy and the staff were friendly.
Late checkout on the Sunday was a great addition despite the room keys not working after 12 but this was rectified easily by the check in staff.
The hotel itself is very clean. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Toiletries, robes and slippers are provided, mini bar, coffee machine, kettle, plenty of plug sockets including usb and UK plug.

We stayed with two families in Amsterdam for three nights and booked the Barbizon because of its central location close to the train station and in walking distance to major sights in the city. We were treated with upgrades for all rooms and although we enjoyed city view, the rooms were quiet and spacious. All hotel staff was super helpful and friendly and contributed to make this trip special to us. The breakfast buffet offered a wide range of warm and cold delicacies, fresh juices, fruit, and fabulous pastries. The cocktails in the bar were well prepared by Rachid and served with a smile. We can definitely recommend the Barbizon for family outings in this beautiful city but being a frequent traveler, I would also recommend the hotel for biz travel.

The location of the hotel is good if you wish to be near the train station. China Town is just around the corner with good restaurants and the red light district is a 5 minute walk if that is of interest. There is shopping just down the street. There is a 10 minute walk to the Nemo museum and the Maritime Museum is a little further. The canal boat cruises are very close. The area is very busy but there was no street noise in our rooms. The rooms were very clean and comfortable except for the beds and pillows. It was difficult to sleep, the beds were hard and the pillows felt like lumps of foam to us.We did not sleep well for the 4 nights we were there.
The staff tried to rectify the pillow situation, obviously there was nothing to be done for the beds.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Professional in every way. The food and service in the restaurant was exceptional and the breakfast was wonderful.

This hotel has a great location to explore the city, across the Cental station,a lot of cafes, restaurants, bakeries just few steps from the famous red light district, all the main attractions are within walking distance.
Check in was easy and simple within few minutes, gave us an early check in at 1 o'clock instead of 3 o'clock p.m. Really friendly and helpful staff especially concierges helps us with various things like restaurants, museum bookings etc.
Great breakfast with lots of variety of hot and cold delicacies.
The room 125 was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable the only problem was very noisy at night as there was a bar on the side street Zeedijk Straat.
Nice lobby area with very nice atmosphere.
Corona rules were good implemented and followed strictly.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel but choose a room not facing Zeedijk straat.
