Beautiful hotel a walking distance from the museums. Nicely decorated room, although a bit small, especially the bathroom, plus the water pressure at the shower was very low. The staff are super helpful and nice, and if the tram 5 was working properly during our stay (under construction) it would have been super easy to get there. Great hotel

Spotlessly clean, great staff who are friendly and well situated. Stayed here for 2 nights. Very new hotel, small but comfy. Everything was so clean. Staff very helpful. Rooms very comfortable especially the beds. Air on was effective and quiet. The mini bar and all drink free. Coffee in the room. I'm coming back.

OK...it is a "Boutique Hotel"...that means small. No doubt...the rooms are small (and we will not even talk about the staircase) but that is not a problem. You are not going to be spending a lot of time in your room. Here is why: - Superb location. Can walk to many of the best sites and the tram is 100...

Great neighborhood, very quiet and located near the major art museums. The staff is friendly and very helpful, rooms are clean and the beds are solid. Americans may complain the rooms are smallish, I'd say "Welcome to Amsterdam!" your first 10 minutes walking around should clue you in to why that is. Perfect for the discerning traveler.

The Muse is a small, boutique hotel. As is typical of such hotels in Europe, the rooms are small and don't have many frills. But the rooms are impeccably clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms totally modern. The location is terrific: Museums can be reached by a 20 minute walk, or by the very frequent tram service one block from...

Almost leaving Amsterdam after a short day trip but had another look on the Internet at the hotels availability and it seemed that some hotels expectations for the long May weekend were not met entirely. Some vacancies and heavy discounts were available. The room was tiny but, big enough :). Definitely worth the very significant price reduction offered.

The Muse is situated fairly central, it is a 10 minutes walk to the Rijksmueum. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was quite small and although it was a double room it was very small only space for one bedside table. There was a television with plenty of channels to choose from the mini bar was complimentary and...

Located within easy walking distance of the museum district, this is a lovely place to stay. The staff are fun and friendly, full of helpful tips and happy to do whatever they can to make you feel welcome. The little breakfast area has a coffee machine you can use 24hrs, and there's nothing quite like the smell of baking croissants...

Let's start with the good. Great guy at reception when we got in 23rd afternoon. Personable, funny, courteous. Front office talent ! Great location, close to Wildschut for a late afternoon in sun terrace drink. However the (brand new) rooms are tiny, even by over priced Amsterdam hotel market standards. For €250 you expect a bit more than about 20mtrs....

This is a new hotel, been open around 6 weeks. Location - not central, it's a tram journey of around 1.2 km from the central area, in a mainly residential area relatively close to the museum district. The hotel is styled a 'Boutique Hotel', which is code for 'no bar'. There is a breakfast room, with a reasonable if not...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
