On several occasions the staff were so helpful and really made our stay in Amsterdam super smooth and wonderful. Thank you for ordering our taxi to the airport (with a special price too!) and for being so accommodating to us anxious travellers xox
Pros: - The pods are bigger than I thought and also pretty comfortable. The pod area was quiet too, no talking or disruption during my sleep. - Staff are friendly and helpful - 5 minute walk to Nooderpark Metro which takes you to Amsterdam Central in minutes. Only 20ish minutes away from the airport using metro and trains. - Showers are modern, clean and the water had a good temperature and pressure. There were plenty of toilets, towels and showers so you were never waiting for someone to finish using them. - A few cozy public areas to chill - 5 minute walk away from Nooderpark which was a quiet and beautiful place to walk and chill. Cons: - Any of the breakfast food I got at the restaurant was average and expensive. - I asked for extra cleaning in my room but still found a long ginger hair in my bed (I’m a dude with black hair) - The lockers aren’t big enough for lots of baggage and made a beeping sound in the pod room which might have been loud enough to disturb people. I would recommend staying in the pods for a short stay. The beds are super comfortable and all public areas are clean. This is a good place to sleep in and dump all your stuff whilst you explore the Netherlands!! …
I was thinking I will stop staying at hostels, but when I saw BUNK, I am rethinking that decision. Great location, peaceful environment, helpful and nice staff, and really cool and well designed place.
Where do I start? From the second I arrived, I was amazed by the quirky design and how the modern decor perfectly complements the traditional features of the monumental church. Definitely worth a walk around the venue to see all the fun little details. The room was cleverly designed with all the comforts you may need: Multiple USB sockets, TV Casting, Free shampoo and body lotion (amazing after forgetting to pack mine). I had breakfast included each morning and there’s a great selection to choose from (I wish I stayed long enough to try them all). Of those I did try, everything was so fresh and made to perfection. My personal favourite was the smoked salmon on sourdough bread. The restaurant has a great atmosphere by day and night, and exceptional staff! If you check out the restaurant for lunch or dinner, I recommend trying the “Maghreb Bowl”. I tried mine with grilled chicken and it was absolutely divine! What really set this hotel apart from the rest is the employees. Thanks to them, this hotel stay really became a full city experience. I was made to feel so welcome upon arrival and that feeling never left. From check in to check out, everybody was super friendly and so helpful… It really felt like a home away from home. Overall, BUNK is a must see when visiting Amsterdam! TOP TIP: Ask about hiring a bike for the day. It’s the best way to see all of the city and there’s a free ferry that takes you directly to Amsterdam Central in just a few minutes. …
Disclaimer: If you're in your early 20's or younger this can work, otherwise do keep reading. Staff: A couple of staff members were absolutely stellar individuals, however the majority lack even basic understanding of hospitality management. There's a loom of a fake smile in the air which makes the environment even more disturbing. Rooms: Rooms this small should be illegal, if they have to be used for the love of god soundproof them. After 3 successive upgrades from the Epic to Epic + category, I can confirm that all the rooms are equally terrible and I can compare spending 6 nights in this hotel to nothing short of a prison sentence. Quiet: I'm a light sleeper in fairness, though if your room is practically 8 sqm, you can hear all the ill begotten antics of your next door neighbors; often in such a drunken state, you'll be watching your clock till the wee hours of the morning hoping to get some shut eye. Reception: Literally cannot be any more basic, no phones in each room to order room service.…
