We transformed the original, monumental building into a stunning eco-sexy, 89-room hotel. Situated in lush Westerpark, one side of the hotel overlooks the cultural grounds of Westergasfabriek (a former gas works) - a hotspot for cultural events and bustling markets - while on the other side, there’s a tranquil, green park - perfect for morning walks. T he hotel is 100% electric and has a sustainable energy system. The rooms feature extremely comfortable Auping beds, some even 200 x 210 cm. Enjoy the on-site organic restaurant Bar Kantoor and sexy grab & go Conscious Café, for all your cravings! Please note: this is a cashless hotel, we accept card only.

Just finished our 3 night stay here! Really ummed and Ahhhd about the score for this hotel between a 3/4.

The location was perfect for us! 30 minutes stroll into the main town and beautifully quiet and lovely views of the park from our room!! Some really nice restaurants nearby as well ,a particular shout out to Braai which does phenomenal food!

Our downsides are not massive and we didn’t say anything whilst staying as I don’t really think there are any quick fixes that could be done and actually I think as a base to rest after a long walk I wouldn’t complain! Unfortunately due to the coronavirus we spent a little more time in the room than planned and that’s perhaps where it fell down.

Limited seating in the room, only a table chair really that after about 10 minutes became quite uncomfortable (again if we had been out of the room more this wouldn’t have been a problem!)

The other thing we questioned is that as this is an environmentally friendly hotel, there is no where to put your towels to dry so usually I always make my towels do for the stay to be conscious of the environment, however they were not drying at all so ended up having to change them everyday. I did try to keep them near the heated floor to dry but it didn’t work.

Overall the staff couldn’t be faulted and there’s lots of lovely quirks and like I say had we just been sleeping here and not spending a bit extra time in the room, perhaps we would not have noticed these things!

Just outside of central Amsterdam which is lovely. Easy check in and you programme your room key card yourself 😊 there are lots of friendly staff around to help should you need assistance. You can also have a complimentary soft drink or glass of champagne on arrival.

Rooms are basic with no real storage but they are clean and a good size with windows that actually open. Our room had a small window seat for looking out over the park. We was at the front of the hotel so was lovely watching all the runners/cyclists/families going about their day, also every morning and evening there was a boot camp in the park which was interesting to watch. The park is lovely for a walk or run.

It was really quiet but we was visiting during April (sure summers months might be busier with more noise) we was near the lifts and the door to the rooms but didn’t really bother us no excess noise (again might be more of an issue during a busier time). There are even some binoculars in the room
For watching the world go by as you sit on your window seat.

The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels left if you wanted them or you can skip a room clean if you prefer.

There were tea bags, coffee and water in the room along with a kettle but no milk. As we are English we love a cup of tea, however just pop down to reception and the staff are happy to give you milk and extra bits should you need it.

The restaurant was very nice only used it once for a late dinner when we had been out all day but once again staff very friendly and helpful. You also get a 10% discount on food if you are staying at the hotel. Food was very nice.

Check out is at 11am which is nice, not to early. It was simple and straight forward and you can leave your bags at the hotel for the day if your flight/train is later.

Would definitely stay here again, it was outside of the busy areas and most things were no more than a 10-15 min walk away which takes you into central Amsterdam.

Will definitely be returning and cannot recommend enough.

Dear guest, Thank you so much for your fantastic review and for choosing to stay with us during your time in Amsterdam! We're thrilled to hear that you had a great stay and enjoyed our hotel's location just outside central Amsterdam. It sounds like you made the most of the lovely park surroundings and enjoyed watching the activities from your room. We're delighted that you found our check-in process convenient and enjoyed programming your own room key card—it's always great to hear when our guests appreciate these features. Everything about our stay at the conscious hotel was excellent. From check in to check out & everything between it was a really positive experience

The rooms are comfortable, the staff are super friendly & the location is perfect if you want to be away from the hustle & bustle of the centre but close enough when you want it.

The on-site bar kantoor has a really good vibe & offers a good selection of food & drink

There are also a few nice restaurants and bars within walking distance (the breakfast club is great for breakfasts & the little Chinese stand outside Westerpark is awesome)

So, if you’re looking for a good hotel in Amsterdam, look no further

On my return to Amsterdam I will definitely be going back to this hotel

Sadly by far one of the worst hotel experience I’ve managed to experience worldwide in over 20 years of traveling. Booked a staycation in conscious Hotel overtoom, Tried calling to amend/ rebook. After multiple tries and no answer listen to the voicemail message , I would be called back within 14 days(!???!). So haven’t given up on trying to amend I show up Hotel 2300 at night to be greeted with leaflet stuck to a dark door no lighting outside stating that this hotel was closed for the time being and I was referred to the hotel down the street(tire station). Having arrived at the hotel down the street to tire Station I was greeted by yet another A4 leaflet on the dark unlit door stating that I had to take a taxi or a long tram ride in the middle of the night to the other side of the city (westerpark )to go to hotel Westerpark. Uber ride of about 10/11€ later I show up Westerpark at midnight. Reception employee was very standoffish refuse to let me come to the reception because one and ahalf meter and then proceeded to take 45 minutes to rebook my room to that hotel even though they’ve had my booking on file for more than two days. After entering my room rather exhausted after 1 o’clock at night I came to the conclusion that yippee the room had not been cleaned after the last guest had left. Just new linens. I’m not even going to ask if it was disinfected but I guess we know the answer to that. Message to conscious Hotel management maybe “conscious “is not the title you want to use when you refer to hospitality and the way you perceive your first paying guests after a crisis in your industry.

I’m consciously deciding never ever to do business with your hotel group again

We booked a room at this hotel because of the location, but were notified by email two weeks before our arrival that they would be moving our reservation to their property on the other side of town (Museumplein.) When we asked the reason for the change, they said they have overbooked the hotel for a large group and wouldn’t be able to accommodate anyone else at the Westerpark location. If they overbooked their property in this way, they certainly knew more than two weeks before our arrival. When we told them the alternate location wouldn’t work for us, they didn’t have any recommendations or do anything to help us find accommodation that would meet our needs, and since they waited so long to let us know, we ended up having to pay nearly twice as much to find a comparable room. Their customer service is abysmal, so unless you intend to rent out the whole property or location is totally irrelevant to you, I strongly suggest you book elsewhere.

Very nice, cosy and trendy hotel in a green environment. Far enough from the city center to be quiet and close enough to the bus or tram station to be in the center in 10 min. Very clean and modern room + very kind staff!!
Highly recommended!!

I loved everything about the hotel. I became a member prior booking and got a better discount that on the travel websites. They were extremely nice, they ordered us a taxi and received us with free drinks and a chocolate. The beds were very comfy as well as the pillows (I’m very picky with the bed). And everything was very very clean. This location had no noise from the street and the windows had black out which was nice! We booked a bedroom for two and a triple bedroom, the triple are cool as the third bed is on the upper floor and gives a sense of privacy. I would only add a fridge but other than that is great. The restaurant of the hotel has very delicious vegan food and the breakfast was yummy, full of Dutch cheese and fresh juice. Hot chocolate was our daily nightly routine and the views to the westerpark are cute. The tram is five minutes away walking distance and with a GVB ticket you would be in the main Amsterdam city centre in just a few minutes.

Amazig hotel , rooms and the hotel was so modern and comfortable .. i wish to go there again
Rooms was big with a good view
Value for money the room considered a good price compared to other hotels in amstrdam which was so old and expensive .

The hotel location is calm place a little far away from citycenter and the crowd.
Its 40 min. Walking from citycenter and there is a tram that go there in 15 min. Or a bus .

This hotel far outweighed anything I could expect. To be honest my trip got off to a really rocky start - my luggage getting lost, and my trip being delayed by a day due to mechanical issues on my plane. The hotel staff saw how stressed I was and made me feel like I was at home. I first contacted them when I knew I wouldn't be arriving on the day that I intended to, and they responded right away that they would have my room ready for me when I did in fact get there. They were kind and generous with helping me out when I needed to purchase amenities because I had zero clothes besides what was on my back. They pointed me in the right direction when I asked for a place to buy sneakers.

In addition to the amazing hospitality, it was in a great location - outside of the city center, but close enough to walk to everything (because I walk everywhere). The rooms were great, I enjoyed the complimentary water everyday. The coffee bar had delicious lattes. It was a great place to return to each night to decompress from the day.

Me and my partner stayed in this lovely hotel while spending New Year in Amsterdam. The hotel itself is located within the beautiful Wester Park, which is much more peaceful than more central parts of the city.

We were greeted with a warm welcome by a friendly and helpful lady when we arrived and she was working throughout our stay. The room was clean and spacious with the most comfortable bed and bedding (I'm actually going to order some pillows from the Dutch company to send to Scotland they were so good). The housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful, we didn't want our room cleaned daily, but they were happy to replace our towels and toilet roll a few days into our stay.

Guests are welcome to a free glass of wine between 5pm and 6pm, which is a lovely touch. We didn't have food in the restaurant, but I can recommend the cocktails ☺️

Also a special thanks to the Italian gentleman who is a new member of staff at the hotel. He was working on night shift and was very friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend this hotel, we would definitely stay here again ☺️

What is the best way to get from the hotel to the main tourist attractions in Amsterdam?

Hi. You can take the bus number 21 or the number 3 tram. The bus takes you to Central Station in about 10 minutes. The number 3 tram will take you to Museuemplein in about 15 minutes For the bus go over the small bridge nearest the hotel and walk right for a few minutes until you see the bus stop. For the tram go over the small bridge nearest the hotel and walk straight down until you see a tram stop.

Hi there - yes you can. We have a staircase connecting all of our floors!

Does this hotel have a pool or spa?
Indeed, we do not have a pool nor a spa in the hotel. We can always recommend you options that are available in the city.
Unfortunately smoking from the balcony is not allowed as this might hinder your neighboring guests. The park has some beautiful spots you can smoke whatever you prefer!
