When arriving at the airport just go to Amsterdam centraal for €5.20. Then come outside and there is a free ferry leaving every half an hour on the hour or half past a that takes 10/15 minutes. We arrived and it was very clean and welcoming. Rooms are cosy with soft beds. Could easily turn radiator up or down. They...

This is as good a base as anywhere for exploring the city. The boats in and out of the centre take about 15 minutes but aren't really a problem and completely free. I wouldn't like to need a taxi here if I missed the last boat though. The rooms are quite small but fairly cheap and there's everything you need...

As a couple we stayed here and loved it! The location is wonderful just 10 mins on the free ferry that drops you in Amsterdam central. Our room was at a great price that included buffet breakfast which was a small selection of hot and cold food, tea, coffee and juice which was an ample start to the day. The...

Arrived on the 1st day and the lady at the reception was not helpful and rude. The accomadation was basic. It served it's purpose. The fact that there were cigarette butts out side our window was not appealing.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend for our first trip away together. Upon arrival we discovered we'd been lumped with a twin room instead of the double we had booked through lastminute.com. After trying to explain this to reception, they had no interest in helping and were nothing but rude and abrasive. We took it up with...

Just come back from a long weekend with friends and stayed here for 2 nights. Great experience to have stayed here and the boat ride to and from the city centre is a treat, something you wouldn't do if you stayed in the heart of the city. Staff here were very friendly and helpful and facilities on board were spot...

2nd visit to Amsterdam. Stayed with my boyfriend and another couple for 3 nights and we loved it, close enough to the city to be there in no time but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet when needed. Yes the rooms are small and basic but have everything you need and are spotless. Cleaners do a great...

The botel is very basic Shower and bathroom very small and cramped but ok for a short stay. Bedrooms again are very basic with no tea or coffee available. The beds are very hard and had no extra pillows available upon request. Breakfast was ok for continental but could have had a bit more of a range. Staff were very...

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
