I stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend. The apartment was perfect, clean and cosy with everything you need, kettle, WiFi, hairdryer, hot shower, heating, TV with English channels... The location was the best part, just down a quite little street off 9 streets where there are loads of restaurants, bars and cafes. I will definitely be staying here...

This place is perfect! Your own self contained flat with private bathroom for the price of a hostel! There is a large bed with a memory foam mattress, flat screen tv, computer, wifi, refrigerator, drink facilities and storage. We arrived late on March the 7th (late flight from the UK) Tarif, waited up for us and was extremely welcoming. The...

My partner and I have just returned from a three night stay here. When we return to Amsterdam in future we will definitely stay here again! We arrived a little earlier than planned but this wasn't an issue as the owner Tarif was there to welcome us. We found it relatively easily, the 6, 13 & 17 trams from Central...

Stayed here with my husband as part of our honeymoon for 3 nights. We both loved it. The location was perfect... could walk to everything. The room was cute and cosy. Yes it is a tad small but look at how they live, this is a residental area and gives you the feel of what it is like for the...

I stayed here for 2 nights with my 14yr old daughter as part of an Xmas gift to her. Perfect area, not to far away from anything, but also not too close so you don't get peace. The owner met us outside as we got a little lost trying to find it, gave us all the information we needed for...

We spent three nights in this lovely flat in Jordaan and we loved it. The room is quite small but we didn't go there to stay inside so it didn't matter. Finding the place can be difficult but if you use your brain, you will find it. Having the address available can help... :D The owner Tarif was very welcoming...

Just returned from four nights at the De Laurier. It was perfect for us in every way! The flat was clean, well designed and the owner was friendly and helpful. The best aspect of De Laurier was its location on a quiet street nearby canals. Such peace - we slept so well. What a great base! We walked all over...

We reserved the flat from Saturday February 1, 2014 to Tuesday February 4, 2014. We wrote that we would arrive between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm. We arrived to the pension in time. We phoned the owners several times, but they didn' t answer the phone. We rang and knocked to their flat. More people on the street helped us...

Me and my bf really liked this accommodation. It's compact and cosy but that was all we needed. It was nice to be close to the town centre but I must admit on more than one occasion - whilst a little tipsy we got lost down one of the adjoining roads and kept coming across an apartment that looked identical...

Great place in a perfect location! The owner was lovely and gave us great tips about the City. Very clean, free internet, and right on the canals. What more can you ask for? Would definitely stay here again!

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.

“The only thing I would make sure of before you book this is if the owners are going to be around or away. I think we could have had a different experience had they been there.”
