To get the negatives out of the way first... I wasn't thrilled with the room they gave me, which was tiny, right next to the loud stairwell, and interior-facing (and thus very dark). And I will say that it's definitely a little far from the train station, especially when you're carrying all your bags and are in a rush! That said... The design and decor is lovely, particuarly in the common areas (see photos). The neighborhood (the reason I picked this hotel) is ideal. Quiet, serene, charming, and off the beaten path (away from the crazy) but still within walking distance of great places. And after the initial check in, the staff were very friendly and helpful, printing some documents for me and giving me a very nice pack of treats when I checked out. Overall, I'd recommend Mr. Jordaan for any visitors looking (as I was) for the non-touristy Amsterdam.

This is a fantastic hotel right in the Joordan area but incredibly close to the center of Amsterdam itself. The rooms, the staff, the facilities are really good and the rooms pretty good, if a little small. Certainly would recommend!

We spent two nights at Mr. Jordaan Hotel at the beginning of our stay in Amsterdam. The staff was excellent with answering questions and getting you anything you need. I loved all of the small touches like a gift when you check in, coffee/tea bar, games, and gift when you leave. It was just a very warm and welcoming hotel. The location was excellent...close to shopping, dining and transportation....also in our favorite area of Amsterdam.

Perfect location, very friendly service, fast check in, very helpful. Space is an issue, some rooms are far too small, comfortable but tiny. Breakfast offers a reasonable selection, all-day coffee was greatly appreciated.
