It had been some years since I visited this hotel. Since they opened a new terrace overlooking the new beach area it looked much better from the outside than in the past. Unfortunately we found out that for the rest nothing had changed. We had the impression again that the service was provided by a few trainees who had no idea that dirty crockery should be removed as soon as possible. The interior of the restaurant area is still worn out. Unfortunately our lunch tasted like the restaurant. It is very unfortunate that such a beautiful location has such a bad restaurant.

No matter what people may sya, this is should be one of your favorites. The li action is unique, namely over the dike (of which only in Den Helder is another example, and a restaurant/bar in Harlingen) and standing on the mud flats of the Wadden Sea. The view of the restaurant are phenomenal!!! And when you leave you window open you will be awakened by the sea below you and the birds screaming. And the by the smell of the sea. It is tfule great. But that was not all. The food and service are fantastic as well. And some might argue to little rooms. These people do not understand the specific sphere of this hotel. Your are on a boat on the sea. It are huts. And some might recognized the title of this review. It is from the Book the Hitchhiker's Guide through the Galaxy of Douglas Adams. At the hotel at the end of the universe you can watch the world going down. Bit like the tides you see in and out and the enormous mud flats that disappear and resurface. Read the book and then go to this hotel, or even without reading the book!

We stayed here for a night in April and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is not every day that you have the opportunity to stay in a hotel on stilts. We knew the area outside the front of the hotel was a construction site, but as we were on bicycles ths was not an issue. The rooms are fully acceptable, comfortable and clean. Plenty of electrical sockets and good Wifi reception. They even found room to store our bikes indoors. We had both dinner and breakfast in their dining room with a view. The dinner was very good with plenty of options and the breakfast was one of the best we have had in recent times. We also very much appreciated having a coffee machine in our room. We will be back.

In front of the hotel major road works. Parking lot is messy. Hotel face is worn down. Not attractive. Room is basic but ok. No elevator. Steep stairs. Beds are boxspring but matrass is to soft to our liking. Due to bad weather there was hardly any view over the water. Reception is staffed by restaurant waiter. Breakfast next morning was buffet style. Nice display of breakfast items. Restaurant has nice view over the water.

Beware of this hotel and their website reservation. I made a reservation on their website and entered credit card. Then , at checkout, they told me it is not paid so i have to pay cash, that CC was only for security. Ok , i paid and day after i see also the same amount charged on credit card. Ok , can happen. So i emailem them. No reply for 7 days, so after my facebook message they replied me. 11 emails, they wanted also my bank account, days passed, but, no money, no clear answer if they will send me the money back. Just meddling that credit card was only for security. travelled everywhere, never seen such a incompetence. Its now 4 months and they definitelly seems will not send me money back.
