The hotel is a mix of a bar, and cinema which is free to enter for hotel guest. The rooms are basic but comfortable, however the wifi signal could have been better. The staff are great and very helpful and the hotel is in a good location. I would stay again due to the fantastic and helpful staff.
We stayed here for 2 days. There is a cinema in this hotel and as a guest you can se movies for free (they are not all in English but the staff can help you with this). There is a bar with a terrace as well again with very kind staff. Breakfast is more then basic and good and again very frindly staff. Room is clean and they even still have wascloths in the bathrooms (that is such a plus). Parking is expensive (public parking garage), but that's pretty much in all of the cities of Switzerland :). And also a big plus is that Winterthur is really a laidback very friendly place. We'll be back. The wiFi works but during our stay it didn't work on the 4th floor (they will work on it)
We enjoyed a large room for a week. The location was convenient for access to the train station and walking around downtown. We were there during a fairly warm week, and there is no air conditioning in the room. Located on the corner on the sunny side, with three large windows, the room was almost unbearably hot. The staff did provide a fan to circulate the air, and opening the windows at night helped considerably, but the arrival day was awful. To make matters worse, we were there during the FIFA World Cup, and partying continued all through the night no matter who was playing. Breakfast was very good, although seating was limited, and when a choir showed up before us, there was no place to sit. Part of the hotel was under reconstruction, so maybe they are making some improvements, but I would probably not stay at this hotel again during the summer months.…
Nice hotel located in the beautiful "Old Town" of Winterthur. You can go out and walk around the area with no problem. Room was nice, and everything was perfectly clean. It is in a quite and nice location, so, you can have a great sleep. Breakfast could be improved. It is a buffet, but if you arrive late, maybe they run out of ham or cheese. Staff is excellent
Hotel Loge is conveniently placed for the old town, the rooms adequate and ,the staff helpful. However the overall impression of the hotel is a somewhat bizarre experience. Breakfast is surreal with the amount of food laid out being related to the number of guest in the hotel;thus there were two slices of ham,two slices of salami and two slices of spam laid out on a plate covered with clingfilm on the first morning when two guests were present. There were two yoghourts etc. I was sorely tempted to take more than my fair share to see the turmoil this may cause. With these provisos The hotel is fine for its convenience
This was a client preferred hotel so I was a little worried about the hotel from all the reviews. From the outside it looked great, however a little confusing once I entered the main door. It is a hotel with bar, restaurant. But it's also a cinema! The breakfast was typical Ibis continental type selection. The room was not very inviting though. There were a couple of rugs on the floor and I dread to think the contents - CSI should have been called in. The negativity stops there as the staff were great. I was running out of charge on my laptop and, whilst sat at the bar, they hunted around for a plug socket for me (including adapter) and eventually got it sorted. Whilst doing this I also enquired about an ironing board for my shirts. One was quickly whisked up to my room. It's the staff that make this place, definitely not the room itself. The bar was nice and seemed fairly busy with outsiders as well. Can't comment on the restaurant as I didn't eat there, however it seemed busy. To conclude. If you don't have to stay in your room for long, this place is fine.…
The hotel is located in the heart of Winthertur, at the reception we had a Warm welcome. The room is basic, with older furniture, but everything is there and clan. Breakfast self service, standard, not very attractive.
Arrived late evening, nobody on reception (2nd floor walk-up) so a scruffy individual offered to go down to the bar and find the gentleman for me. Some 20 minutes later, he turns up in a vest, and gives me a key to what I have only found at 'no-tell motels' in my youth. Pink walls, single bed, no a/c, warm air being pumped out of the dining room and noise from the bar downstairs. No other rooms available and too tired to find anywhere else, I stayed the night. Bathroom was small, with basic shower facilities, wifi was not working and the grainy tv was high on the wall, seemingly too far for the remote control to reach! Breakfast was cold buffet opposite the reception, a few rolls with warm yogurt, sweaty cheese and meat. The coffee was good, however, as is the hotel's central location. Just as well, as I could walk away from the place to get some food and enjoy what is otherwise a very pleasant town to visit.…
Stayed there just for one night. The room was clean. Breakfast was a loveless self-service around the reception. Ham and cheese was under wrapping film. McD came to my mind... Reception was not in service when we wanted to check out as the person in charge had overslept. It all left a strange impression.
Hotel Loge is in the pedestrian zone of the town Winterthur. The pedestr; zone in the town is typical well planned, typical Swiss. You leave your car in the Garage 100 mtr from the hotel. The town is to be visited on foots. There are different restaurants, and the culture attractions, Museum and the paitings, and Concerts. Winterthur is a small quiet town: like an old decent women: it has a decend charm! For a change Getaway Weekend, its a good choice. Next time in Winterthur Ill be in this hotyel again.
