Nestled in the heart of the city, Lausanne Palace garners acclaim for its old-world elegance and stunning views, with guests frequently complimenting the upgraded rooms. While some travelers mention the rooms can be subject to noise and a mix of temperature control issues, the service is consistently lauded for its exemplary staff.
Although opinions on value and modernity vary, the hotel's cleanliness and luxurious amenities, including a praised spa and pool, are popular highlights. Its location is also celebrated for easy access to local attractions, despite the occasional mention of challenging hilly approaches.

Detailed Reviews
We were there for just one night on our anniversary.
Everything was perfect. The concierge was very helpful in organizing the “rose petal surprise” in the room to make things even more romantic. We had a suite with lac view. Definitely a stunning set-up if you are going all out.
The spa is nice but good to know men and women are separated in the saunas and hamam. Book ahead if you want to go for massages. We were too late for this but greatly enjoyed the relaxing pool area.
Food and service at the brasserie were excellent French wines are quite expensive but they have an extensive card of special (and more affordable) Swiss wines for all meals. We would look forward to going back there.

We just spent 2 months skiing in Europe. Of all the places we visited, this was our favorite hotel! It provided the standard by which all the other hotels were compared.
We had not planned to visit Lausanne, but we were fleeing a bad skiing experience in Gstaad and decided to enjoy a few nights in Lausanne as an alternative. This hotel was able to take us on short notice. We had a spacious, comfortable, lovely room with a city view and a balcony that we absolutely loved. On checking in, our attentive clerk took us to see this room as well as a room with a lake view to be sure we would be happy.
No request was too outrageous at this hotel. My husband asked for, and was happily given, a full bucket of ice, martini glass, and cherries.
All of the restaurants that we tried associated with the hotel were outstanding, in particular the Brasserie Grand Chene. Room service was also excellent, and included an orchid!
The fitness center was very nice. The spa facilities were separate for men and women.
The hotel is in a good location, very close to the the prime shopping in the city, and also right across from the subway which you can use to get to the Olympic Museum. It is a really fun city to explore, and it's very walkable.
We owe a debt of gratitude to the hotel that so disappointed us in Gstaad, because if it weren't for them, we would not have discovered the Lausanne Palace! And that would have been a tragedy.

The hotel management and staff made their best to make our stay enjoyable even in this very "special" situation.
We stayed in this hotel twice for 3 nights each time, in a room with lake view. As we were on the third floor, the view is nice, but less impressive. I loved the bathroom, with shower and bathtub separated, and made with high quality material.
The breakfast served in our room was incredible, with a choice of eggs I've never seen. We had also all our dinners in our room, every plate was delicious. One evening we could also order from the Japanese restaurant, as it was already fully booked.
The spa was open only for the customers and we had to book in advance the access, which I found safe and convenient. The swimming pool is very nice and I love the decoration, which reminds me of roman baths.
The staff was very polite, attentive and smiling, which I always appreciate. We could feel that they were doing their best to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

This was truly the best hotel I ever stayed at. I was greeted by name as I stepped out of the car they arranged for me from the airport. I was escorted to the front desk for check in. They quickly helped me orient myself to the hotel services. My room was amazing. I had a full view of Lake Geneva and a patio to sit and gaze. Although I have used concierge services before, I was amazed that they all knew my name as did the desk clerks. Everyone at that hotel including restaurant staff and room service seemed to be focused on making my stay extraordinary. They anticipated my needs and made many suggestions for my stay and city experience. Housekeeping also stunned me by anticipating my needs and learning quickly how I like things arranged. My room was immaculate. Frankly I did not expect all of this when I booked my stay. I am usually pretty low key and never demanding. I think I rather fly below the radar in most hotels, however, the treatment I received at the Lausanne Palace made me feel very special without any intrusion and I am thrilled that I chose this hotel for such a memorable stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

It is our pleasure to write this review of the Lausanne Palace. During our travels over the years we've stayed in numerous first class hotels but rarely experienced the consistency of excellence the Lausanne Palace delivers.
This is of course due to the staff and in particular to Guillaume Henri, Chef de Reception. From our very first stay at the hotel three years ago, he has made us feel especially welcome. He has ensured special occasions such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries and most of all, the birth of our two granddaughters in Lausanne, have been celebrated, going the extra mile to make them memorable for us and our family.
Room standards are always exceptional thanks in particular to Juliette Bloch, Directrice Hebergement, who makes a special effort to meet us every stay.
The Lausanne Palace will always be a special place for us where we will continue to stay on our visits to Lausanne.
As the years go by we look forward to bringing our little granddaughters to afternoon tea and celebrating their own special occasions with the lovely staff at this excellent hotel.

Extraordinary hotel—I don’t know where to start. I had arrived too early for check in, so the front desk staff suggested visiting the spa. Great idea! I was able book a massage on the spot and enjoyed a little snack in the Yogi Booster lounge. I had a lakeview room (#312) with a charming little balcony that was a lovely setting for breakfast. The well-lit, large room was quiet (thanks to insulated windows), with simple, elegant décor. The bed was comfortable, but the comforter was a bit too warm—so I requested a simple sheet and blanket, which was much better. The bathroom, too, was large, with good lighting, a shower, & tub. Everything was spotlessly clean and in good working order. Room service breakfast was more than generous and arrived consistently on time. As fabulous as the hotel’s facilities are, what made my stay extraordinary was the superb staff. The front desk, spa, restaurant, and housekeeping staffs were all highly professional and helpful in every way. A very special thanks to concierges Matthew, Christopher, Cindy, Felician (apologies for any misspellings) for all the advice they gave me in figuring out public transportation and in suggesting restaurants and interesting things to do around Lausanne. They made my stay in Lausanne even better than I had planned. I would come back to Lausanne, just for the opportunity to stay here again.

The hotel is fabulous is a like trip back in the Golden age of travel! The building itself is an example of a Grand hotel of the past. The hotel has great valet service with a very reasonable rate considering that the hotel is a 5 stars. The staff is amazing: very helpful and always at your complete disposition for any question you might have. We booked a room with City view: top overlooking the old town of Lausanne. Ok maybe the hotel could renew the rooms, a little bit a trip back in the ’80, but I believe that this is the special touch of the hotel. The spa is very good with a great terrace outside overlooking the lake. Breakfast was ok but maybe I would have expected something more from a 5 stars hotel….Location is top: 5 minutes on foot and you reach the “Flon” with a lot of bars, restaurants, etc. Also the old town can be easily reached on foot and if you need to go down to the lake side the underground station is close to the hotel. A great stay in Lausanne! Absolutely recommended.

I decided to treat myself and stayed for a night (23rd December) in a ‘business room’ that cost 324 Swiss francs.
‘Solid’ is the adjective that comes to my mind—in terms of infrastructure and service.
I particularly liked the spa and the central location.
Tip: ask for a room away from the street as I found it to be a little noisy.

We stayed at Lausanne Palace for two nights to start the new year. We were upgraded to the presidential suite, which was amazing. The room was quite large with a beautiful view of the lake and alps. We also received a complimentary bottle of champagne the first evening. We ate at the hotel both nights - once in the bar and once at the Parisienne style restaurant. Both were very good with the seafood at the cafe style restaurant prepared perfectly. Service throughout the entire stay was amazing - everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was better than most hotels we’ve stayed in with a large variety of items. The hotel is in a perfect location to walk around the old town and see the city. We would definitely stay here again and only here when I Lausanne. Thank you to the hotel for the outstanding service!

From what I know, they started renovating several years ago. My favourite room is on the 3rd floor listed as recently renovated by the front office. Room 329. Feels larger by comparison to the listed size (40sqm I think). Modern bathroom/fittings/furniture etc.
Yes we provide a parking inside the hotel.
Best regards,
Dear Guest,
Many thanks for your request. You can choose your prefered category and book it for two person if only two people will come but if there will be two adults and one child, we advise you to book also an extra bed. We hope this will help you and we already wish you an excellent stay with us in our hotel.
Sincerely yours,
Pascal L.
