We loved our stay in this newly renovated historic hotel. From the moment we were picked up by horse coach at the station to our final luxurious breakfast, we were well-cared for and pampered. Our room was spacious and well-stocked (soft drinks are complimentary), staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool was a welcome treat after each day of hiking.

Please avoid yourself a surpise and choose a different hotel. There are plenty of great options (e.g. Mont Cervin Palace). The Grand Zermatterhof is frozen in time with clear signs of ageing and lack of investment everywhere, specially in the lobby and the guest rooms, however the prices are up to par with an average of CHF650 per night. I will not go into details but take my word from a world traveler and have a great time at another hotel.

The hotel is fantastic but the service was below expectation. No staff at the bar to serve clients, waiters on terrasse making no effort to find a table while the receptionist is able to find one. I stayed at his hotel on a few occasions but my last stay was a bit disappointing. I made arragements for transportation from the train station to the hotel upon my arrival. The hotel staff did not show up!

We returned after 35 years to find the hotel remains the top of its class. Large, well appointed rooms, exceptional service and an excellent breakfast selection. This remains an oasis of elegance in very touristy Zermatt.

The best location and the most beautiful property in the center of Zermatt. With the worst service you will find !!!! Not only doesn’t have air conditioning you need to leave your windows open for air BUT there is a big construcción going on probably for the next few years !!!! Be careful!!!! Noise and No AC in the summer ?!?! 5 stars really ?!! The problem is the la k of service !!! I tried making a restaurant reservation and there is no concierge, the poor only guy at the front desk booked me a All you can eat buffet at a 3 star hotel, LOL. I tried talking to the manager but he doesn’t care since probably he inherited the hotel from his grandfather. Never again. Noise for sure for the next years and there terrible service
