Upon our arrival just after midnight, we found the hotel bar and checking area to be extremely busy and lively. We joined in with the welcoming bunch for several pints of Heineken. Despite the busyness, we were pleasantly surprised that the check-in process was completed in under 60 seconds, and we had our keys before I could even taste my pint or half a litre of Heineken.
Our rooms were quirky and unusual, but nicely designed and clean. Despite the slight squeakiness of the beds, they were comfortable, and we thought the squeaks added character to the whitely painted exposed concrete walls. The room did not have an air conditioning system, but the management mentioned that the hotel is environmentally conscious.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed with breakfast as the two coach loads of guests before us had wiped out the entire buffet. However, we were able to find a nice little café/restaurant once we had checked out. The hotel boasts a large quantity of car parking spaces, both under and above ground, and the area felt safe.
All the hotel staff were friendly and welcoming, and I would be happy to spend a couple of days here exploring the area.

We arrived late and night and the atmosphere was a bit unusual, but to our surprise, the room was brand new, very nicely designed and clean and the bed quite comfortable (pillow a bit too high for us). The morning check out was easy and the personnel very helpful. The only thing is breakfast is quite expensive compare to the price of the room (one third), therefore we decided to take it elsewhere. There is a nice space if you want to work there, big tables and lots of light.

Positive: the bedding is good. TV is huge. The positive ends there.
The worst part is the throbbing bass sound of Techno music playing in the evening, on the ground floor, in the building. Until 1:00 a.m. on a Friday. The hotel is vast, the corridors very long, but this is not enough to quell the vibrations that diffuse in the all concrete of the construction. Either we run a hotel or a dance hall. Both are irreconcilable.
The bedroom window can be switched to transom, but cannot be opened (as there are no blinds...). The bathroom is only equipped with a glass, like Duralex. Small savings. On the ceiling, mineral view of concrete and formwork traces: a real PC shelter!
Hygiene in the dining area leaves something to be desired. Everyone talks in front of the shelves where the dishes are placed: fresh fruit salad, jam, bread, cakes. No windows or boxes protecting the food from dust or anything that the hosts’ conversation can send about food... Those if are any: supermarket classics.
The security of the hotel is inadequate. The elevator allows direct access from the garage to the floors (normally, in a well-regulated hotel, you have access to the reception, then with magnetic card or code in the floors). Located a few hours away from Zermatt, Hotel Moxy is a breath of fresh air. It's a little boutique hotel, from a giant chain that greets you with a signature scent of refreshing patchouli and vetiver. Front lobby has subdued lighting, vast space which they designed for “instagram” moments (flamingo, feathers, ring light, foosball etc. A couch with a TV perfect for watching “the Game”. Outside seating areas with the view of the swiss alps.

Unhappy and bothered staff. Via Bonvoy app I contacted the reception in order to know more about their kitchen opening hours. No answer at all. No suggestions for a dinner, not a “Sorry we are closed”, just an annoyed “no.” The microwave in common spaces is dirty and so was my bed; a blood stain on the duvet and some pen marks on the sheet. Cut nails on the toilet floor and hair in the shower.
On the following morning no staff to be found for 10minutes, looks like there is one person for all duties, from bar to breakfast to check out.
Room was quiet but a bit hot.
Do not expect a warm welcoming, a smile or their promised welcome drink.
Haven’t seen yet something like that in Marriott’s hotels😅

Admittedly, Moxy hotels are my least favorite of the Marriott owned brands, but sometimes there aren't any other options like in Sion. This Moxy is probably the worst I've stayed in. Amenities that other Moxy's have such as a welcome drink and small gym are absent at the Moxy Sion. The breakfast isn't as good, and even the coffee machine only has 3 options. (other Moxy hotels I've stayed in usually have at least double that, including options for cappuccinos and macchiatos). The heater didn't work when I needed it, and the bed was a bit hard. The staff are friendly though and the room was quiet.
If you have a car, you can either pay 12 CHF per day to park underground or you can conveniently park right outside the main entrance (uncovered parking) for free.

Everything is perfect, we already went 3x, Breakfast is a bit expensive but we eat very well. The rooms are very nice and the bed very comfortable, just a little warm when we go in summer but they give fans. The staff very kind and the Pension is very well placed. The Moxy is recent, comfortable, convenient, fun, and most importantly the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Bed and pillows are on the hard side. Room works well for leisure in the area and a few days; if you travel with a large suitcase, gazillion of clothes or need a good working desk, this is not the place to go.
Ambiance is young and modern and the reception staff also tends the rather good bar. There is free parking in front of the hotel. While the bar serves quite decent food, a proper restaurant is next door.

We have stayed in some Moxy hotels before, and usually satisfied. This one was a real disappointment. To make a long story short:
- reception : they don’t bother about your status or profile preferences. Mine are for from the elevator and high floor. I was close to the elevator and on floor 1.
- room : bad sweat smelling when entering… let’s start with opening the windows although it is freezing outside.
- room decoration : nothing! And when I say nothing, it’s nothing. Just concrete grey walls and ceiling… looks like a prison cell.
- from 3 or 4 am, you get the kitchen smell in the room through the air conditioning: it starts with pastries and moves on with bacon and saucage !
- shower: no pressure (and remember we are on first floor)
- bed: cheap quality, got back pain on day 1.
