Great hotel on transit to the south. Not too expensive by Swiss standards. Clean room and bathroom, good bed, not far from the highway, parking in front of the door, decent breakfast.
Moreover, the people who work there are really friendly and give good tips if you want to eat elsewhere. And Sion itself is a very pleasant town to visit. This Ibis is certainly excellent value for money for a hotel in transit.

The Ibis Hotel is directly connected to the highway, which is very good for a transit or business stay. The service was very friendly, the rooms well equipped and the morning meal saturated one.
I would recommend the ibis!

Hotel very well located near the motorway exit.
Friendly staff who take great care of customers.
We were immediately asked if we were coming for the music festival even though we didn't know it existed, and although our arrival was on a Sunday, they took the time to explain to us how to get to town on foot.
We will remember, among other things, the omnipresent smile and kindness of Chloé at reception.
The sheltered terrace is very pleasant for a drink or dinner.
We will be happy to return to this hotel if the opportunity arises.

It's 30°+ Impossible to sleep. There is NO air conditioning. This hotel should not be operating. Shocking that in 2020 a hotel sti ll has not provided an air conditioning system especially in time of COVID. My advice is to avoid sleeping in rooms without air circulation. Very very bad.

Very decent renovated room, small downside on the quality of the pillows which are too hard. Shower room which lacks a little space to put toiletry bags, but for one night it's honestly not a problem. Rather calm night but the doors of the stairs slam loudly we can't stop them! Good and varied breakfast. Hotel easy to find and with parking for 8 francs.

Great little hotel. Not far off the highway so good for travellers. Rooms are quite small but the meal I had there was fantastic. There were two staff members having some sort of argument in the restaurant but the guy behind the bar moved them out after a bit. Great sized meals. Car park right outsider the door is also a bonus. Overall a great little place to stay.

Despite what their website states, it is NOT near the station or city centre - it is a good 25 minutes walk - about 2.5km. Breakfast is not included, and I found the room rather noisy.

Switzerland is a very expensive country. To give you an idea of how it will drain your wallet, a Valais businessman told my husband, 22 year old son and me that the average cost of housing in the area is about $7,500 / €5,760 per month. He added that Genève is worse. With this in mind, finding affordable hotels in the Rhône Valley is difficult. Thanks to TripAdvisor reviews, it became clear quickly that Ibis Sion Est would be where we stay for a few days in Valais.
Ibis hotels are what we call in the United States, 3-Star Hotels. They are affordable and clean. When we arrived by car from Genève, the clerk at the front desk quickly checked us in. We started our conversation in French, but ended it in English. Her English was perfect as this is her second language. This part of Switzerland speaks French.
This Ibis located just off of Highway-9 (Autoroute du Rhône). Access to the Ibis is relatively easy, but one can get mixed up as to where they are due to the numerous roundabouts in the area, and Le Rhône dividing the town. Parking is free, but please note there are a limited number of spaces! The rooms are small by American standards. Ibis does a very good job of taking advantage of the limited floor space so one can stow their belongings away. Numerous electrical outlets are in the room to keep your smartphones, laptops, etc. fully charged. There are enough lights in the room to read and conduct your business. Wi-Fi at the Ibis Sion Est is free. It was fast and reliable for our three nights in Valais. A desktop sits in front of your window. Our two rooms had a great view of the valley and the surrounding mountains. With the ever-changing weather, my husband had a field day taking pictures of the surrounding beauty. None of the rooms have air conditioning as it really never gets too hot. The windows to our room open thus the cool mountain air can keep things comfortable.
Ibis Sion Est has a small restaurant. It is not fancy, but that may be a good thing due to Swiss prices. There is a lovely patio area to relax and unwind after touring Valais. Numerous trees make this a small oasis in this commercial area of Sion (centre ville is across the highway and Le Rhône). Our 15 CHF / $17 per person breakfasts were good as there was fresh fruit, cereal, croissants, breads, jams, cheese, meats and yogurts. A machine produced a good choice of coffee and teas. My husband thought that for a machine, it was rather good coffee thus he would sit in the eating area for an hour sipping coffee and catching up on things with his smartphone. The hotel’s lobby has very small and uncomfortable chairs. They are so small that they must be for small kids only. That is a waste of space as adults sometimes want to unwind in the lobby. This is a small complaint, but you need to know the lobby is not a place to escape to.
An Aldi grocery store is just a five minute walk from the hotel. If you need diesel fuel, a gas station with a small grocery store (like in the United States) is just a minute away. There is a bus stop located not too far from the hotel. With Gare de Sion (train station) being less than a 10 minutes bus ride from the bus stop, this Ibis is definitely in a rather accessible and convenient location. If you want to spend some time away from the city and enjoy the Rhône Valley, then this Ibis is the best hotel to enjoy Valais.

Good stay! Very friendly staff - you feel personal attitude with their service. Price was very reasonable for the high season, Sat-to-Sun night and the expensiveness of Switzerland. The room was equipped with everything you need, not talking about free Wi-Fi. The hotel location is great for exploration of the area (and Sion itself is pretty town - with beautiful churches and cathedral).

This is a standard Ibis really. Nothing fancy, but nothing terrible either and a pretty good distance from the train station. Noise from the corridors can drift into the room so I'd recommend bringing ear plugs just in case you end up with noisy neighbours. But I would highly recommend this hotel for a one-night stopover.

I do not recall seeing a tea making utensils in the room. But since I am not a tea drinker this was not on my radar. You might want to call them about that. The reception desk is very friendly and accommodating.
